The future Alpha 99

Would any of you expert guys on here like to hazard a guess as to what might happen to the A99 in the foreseeable future - I mean as far as upgrades are concerned?
Much obliged

Re: Most desirable Sony camera?

I agree with Pete. I prefer handling a DSLR shape - and the A900 and 850 are bulky and dated looking compared to the later ALphas.

Most desirable Sony camera?

I came within a whisker of splashing out on the RX1. At the last minute I decided I couldn't face the prospect of working without image stabilisation. Losing 4 stops of usable exposure in this way is just not acceptable these days - well that's my position. I couldn't see how the resolution potentia...

Re: Mirrorless rumours

To pick up on comments by Paco in this thread and by David here and on the homepage: Maybe I've been living in a fool's paradise these last 30 years, but I was always led to believe that the higher end Carl Zeiss lenses were the bees knees in terms of most image quality parameters - even the A-mount...

Mirrorless rumours

If the rumour about Sony abandoning all but mirrorless is correct - there's one positive outcome. The brilliant A99 will drop in price and be within reach of more of us Alpha mount/Zeiss devotees. Let's face it - the only reason we joined this community and use A-mount in the first place was because...

Re: RX1 Bargains on ebay

Thanks for your tips guys - on reflexion UK based suppliers seem a better bet. And looking at ebay again last night the HK prices are equalled by sellers here in the UK.
Thanks

RX1 Bargains on ebay

Hi to all the Sony community. I was interested in getting your feedback on the following query: I'm really keen to get hold of the new RX1 when my finances allow, and I've noticed that on ebay it's going for as "little" as under £2000. That's a saving of £600-700 compared to the normal ret...

Re: New Member on Flickr

Hi David Thanks for taking the trouble to look and your comment. I suppose I do tend to go for impact and contrast, but it would be good for me to reflect on that and perhaps, as you say, try a more forgiving approach to (especially) faces. I look forward to the experiments to follow. Many thanks Ro...

Re: My gallery on Flickr

I really like the latest or top photo with the cool sky colours shining in the ripples of sand. I wish I'd taken that!
Best wishes

Re: A77 versus Full frame

Low light performance may be the weak point of Sony Alphas in general, but it isn't the be-and-end-all. I don't normally shoot above ISO 400, even for sunsets and dusk shots. I've got the fast 2.8 Zeiss 24-70mm and with "steady shot" I only rarely use anything other than ISO 100. In that r...

A77 versus Full frame

After reading an earlier post about which full-frame was best (A850 or A900) I thought it right to add a related question that is troubling me. If the A77 has pulled off the amazing trick of providing 24 megapixels on a APSC sensor and actually improving on the low light performance of the A850 and ...
