Re: Sony A-99 11

I would base my choice between those 2 cameras on the systems they have and after market availability of used lenses which is vast, not to mention 3rd party lenses Ect. Both cameras have a lot going for them and the A-99 11 has some advantages over the Nikon but my choice would be the Nikon for the ...

Re: Great pictures on my HX-90V

Hi guys are you still there, I have just invested in a Bridge camera and apart from my HX-90V compact I have no other Sony product, but I guess I am still eligible to be a member? OK, its a Panny Lumix FZ 330 with a Leica constant F/2.8 zoom, I wish I had moved over years ago, but the quality just w...

Re: Sony announces new A9 in New York....

Never liked the colours on my A-37, I tried every tweak there is but it was never to my liking. My old Olympus E-510 is probably the best out of camera colours and that was with the Panasonic sensor. Later M/4/3 Oly's in my view still exhibit great colours but not quite as good as the older E series...

Re: Sony announces new A9 in New York....

A bit of Psychoanalysis there Peter, but you are right to a point, as you may remember I'm a Jpeg fan and I favour the Fuji/Oly/Canon colours. Yes, on one review of colours ( Jpeg shoot out () it was mentioned that women see colour differently to men not to mention the variations within the gender. ...

Re: Sony announces new A9 in New York....

All things considered, you won't go far wrong with Canon, inferior sensor or not, although I would like to know how inferior as Canon has a huge fan base world wide and I see no one complaining on their chat forums and I don't hold much credence with reviews especially from DP. As one Nikon pro user...

Thanks for opening up the thread again I had forgotten all about it, there are some impressive small sensor pictures. Will try to post a pic when I have time.

I can only guess, but they may have had their Jpegs optimised for the point and shoot consumer market

Great pictures on my HX-90V

I always carry my Sony HX-90V compact on holidays, it goes in the pocket and has a great Zeiss zoom lens, but every time I down load on the PC the pictures look so much more pleasing than my A37/standard 18-55 kit lens, The colours are far nicer and overall its a better camera in some ways. Yes, I k...

Re: Sony A-99 11

Yes Val, agree, it seems that only the high end stuff ever gets discussed, especially recently launched cameras like the 2 you mention and at the expense of the entry level end (nothing new there to discuss). but you have to expect that these new and exciting bits of kit are going to be taken apart ...

Re: Sony announces new A9 in New York....

I heard rumours from a Nikon rep in my local store that Nikon might team up with Mitsubishi, who have made sensors and other components for Nikon, so there is some history there that could develop. Canon in a way are a 'Maverick' company with most things made in house. They are also quite a conserva...

Re: Sony announces new A9 in New York....

I went down the ILC route with a A6000 and used my old A mount lenses via an adaptor, it was crazy, poor balance, heavy, large and it removed the whole object of an ILC. Some sites even said with some big E mount lenses, the camera looked like a credit card glued to the end of a beer can. I sold the...

Re: Sony announces new A9 in New York....

About right in my view, not for me either, but there is no doubt Canikon will eventually respond, they have to, to survive. My A mount is just one A37, Sony 18-55, kit Sony 18-135, Minolta 24-85 and a Konica 17-35, but like you, they only see the light of day occasionally. My main carry any where ca...
