Re: Need Advice on Choosing a Lens for my a65
I used CZ 16-80 and I own Sony 18-55, Sony 16-50, Tamron 17-50 and Sony 16-105. Sony 16-50 has the advantage of being better in video due to its silent AF motor but apart from that IMO Tamron 17-50 is on par with it in every other thing and moreover its cheaper and lighter. So if AF sound in video i...

Re: shoulder straps
ok I agree with you on that.
But as far as I can see its not a Sony issue. I see some other brands' users going out with pretty bad quality straps too (especially Nikon). I guess camera makers trying to save money in every possible way. I agree its not fair to buyer though.

Re: shoulder straps
Why do you use them then? Neoprene straps are around 5-10 USD in ebay. I stocked a lot of them in different colors and change it regularly.

I'm not a big fan of Sigma but Sigma 180 is a GREAT lens. IMO don't think twice.

Re: A77 and Lightroom
Lightroom is supporting A77 raw since version 3.5:

Assuming your version is higher, there must be another issue on your case. Maybe uninstall/reinstall might help?

Re: Xtrans v Sony Bayer CMOS
I'd guess shutter speed is half in Sony because Fuji is infamous with its ISO cheating. Its not producing as clean images in high ISO, its just increasing ISO faster so in many cases its ISO 3200 is same as other cameras' ISO1600. To test them fairly their shutter speed/aperture should be same, inst...

Re: My new lens
Frankly speaking I prefer Sony 16-105 over CZ 16-80. IMO their performance is VERY CLOSE, yet 16-105 is cheaper and has a wider FL.

Re: Landscape 2014
Thanks Sury. Sigma 10-20 is not the best ultrawide lens around but it performs well if you can afford to stop to F16. But this usually means a little ISO increase for hand held shots even under bright sun as seen in the example. For APS-C Tokina 11-16 is performing much better but its too heavy for ...

Re: Tiny sensor revenge gallery thread!
Its a slug. I don't know its specific type though. There were literally hundreds of them where I shot the photo. This seemed a little more interesting to me since it was eating. Here is another angle where more of it is visible: http://s16.postimg.org/r6anhju1h/2012_08_20_18_36_52_4000x3000_1_8_160_...
