Bought a Maxxum 7000

This morning I bought a pristine camera shoulder bag containing a Maxxum 7000 and case with a f1.7 lens, filters, cable release, 2800 flash gun and case, one unopened roll of film, another film in the camera and various other small bits and pieces and instruction booklets. The whole lot is virtually...

Re: Nex Cameras as reviewed by DPReview

Those of us who inhabit these forums and review sites can easily forget that the casual consumer who just wants a camera for general snaps is far more likely to read one of the many monthly mags. than scour the internet for reviews. I know from experience by the number folk who asked me what camera ...

Thanks very much for that excellent piece of work David - I found it most interesting and your comments on the NEX enlightening.

Re: AF Micro Adjustment

My experience has been the same as David's - no adjustmet needed. The only Minolta lenses I have now are the 35-200mm xi and the Konica-Minolta 17-35mm D and they are both okay. My Sony lenses are fine also.

Re: Sony 30mm f/2.8

I had a 70mm Sigma macro and whilst it was very good I honestly didn't think it was better than the Sony 100mm macro on my a900. The extra 30mm on the Sony is useful and not being a lover of Sigma's furry finish I sold the 70mm. The Sony 30mm would unfortunately not be too much use on FF so I've nev...

Re: PMA rumours?

.... I waited over 6 months after the KM 7D came out before I bought and over 6 months before buying the Sony A700. Naturally, I then discovered problems with both. :( To balance the scales - I've had 4 Sony dSLRs and none gave any problem at all. I currently have the a900 which has not faltered in...

Re: Sony NP-FM500H Battery @ £12.49 delivered

Frankly I doubt very much that it is genuine. I see amongst his many negative feedbacks some have mentioned fake items - although the majority of his negative/neutral feedbacks are about very long delivery times.

Re: Getting Away From Sony Alphas Entirely

I've had the a100, a350, a700 and now the a900 (for just over one year) - none have given any problem whatsoever. I guess I've been lucky. :)

Re: More from Gustav on Sony Alpha in 2010

I think Sony's "you cant put it on sale" doggie-doo hurts them. Everyone wants a bargain, and why waste ad space in your store flyer if you cannot say that the camera is 5% off or "Save $75"? .... Dusty True in your country but retail price maintenance is illegal throughout the ...
