Re: In defense of the A100

In the right hands, an a100 flies past those with far better, more expensive cameras in the hands of those who don't know what they're doing. If someone glances at your photo and assumes you're working with much more (camera, lighting equip, software used, etc,) than what you've got, you're doing so...

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ That helped me so much, I now have results! (the ring came with zero instructions, obviously) Actual size (detail) result, first try with your method : http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i33/jian3672/detail.jpg Reduced size & quality of the whole : http://i68.photobucket.com/a...

Re: Reverse Macro Ring - Lens Not Found?

I've found a Shutter override setting, but I've a new problem. I can take a photo of my backlit screen, and it's dark. REALLY dark, even with flash, and tweaking out the exposure, and shutter settings. Do I need to blanket our subject with tons of light for anything to look decent? I suspect that t...

Reverse Macro Ring - Lens Not Found?

I just got a reverse macro ring, 55mm, for my 55mm lens for the Sony a100. Online, some people seem to have success with certain rings, so it's entirely possible. The ring fits snug, as does the lens, but I can't seem to override the shutter, the camera citing 'No Lens Found,' despite manual setting...

Re: Which is best ARW/RAW converter for Alpha 100?

Running Adobe Lightroom 1.4.1 , after trying the native Sony RAW converter, and a few free, simple ones that I didn't care to remember. If it matters to you, there's only two issues with AL 1.4 which is : ( 1 ) ...The limited gallery customizations in the WEB 'module,' which, in my opinion, is just ...

Re: Sony a100, Vertical Grip : Dicain? Opteka? from Where?

Yeah, I think I'm going to go with that, but I'd like to leave this open, so people can share experiences with 'cheap' eastern overseas sellers, as well. Those sites you recommended doesn't carry the Dicain, only other sites that have little customer reviews (other than eBay seller ratings, which I ...

Sony a100, Vertical Grip : Dicain? Opteka? from Where?

(after getting some advice from http://www.photoclubalpha.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=483 ) Ah! Found the Dicain website, but it's in Korean, and impossible to translate. http://www.dicain.co.uk/ doesn't seem to exist anymore, despite a tepid-to-fair review : http://forums.dpreview.com/forums...

5400HS replacement part

Instead of describing it, I'll show it :

http://www.uscamera.com/minfls004.htm

No-one seems to have it, anywhere.

Does anyone here know where I can find it, or do any of you want to sell me one?

Reply or PM if you have info. Thanks!

Re: Vertical Grip for Sony alpha 100?

^^^ Whoa, wait, the Diacain one didn't work, or just one that came from somewhere other than Link Delight and/or Digital Rev?

The Diacain one is the one I'm looking into!

Vertical Grip for Sony alpha 100?

I've seen the Dicain VG-1, the Optekas, and such. All seem to come from South Korea, China, or Malaysia. In fact, I've never seen one by Sony yet (but read hints Sigma makes one,) and they widely range in price, some for the same model : $50-$350. ...and mostly for the a700, a200, etc, not specifyin...

Re: Wirelss Flash Networking Questions (Sony a100)

"You can use no 36, 56 (HS-D, or Sony) or the new 42 and 58 models in any combination of remote units with the Alpha 100." Is that as in "You can use (numbers) 36, 56..." or "You can use NO 36, 56..." ? So, you're saying I can use, for instance, a 56 with two Metz guns,...

Wirelss Flash Networking Questions (Sony a100)

First off, a history. I've a Minolta Dynax Maxxum 9xi for about 10 years now, and use 5400hs flash units, where you can wirelessy network mulitple flashes. I bought two additional 5400hs flash units recently, only to find that they don't effectively use wireless on the Sony Alpha 100 , and can only ...
