Comments on articles

Am I the only one who can't read the comments to articles on the website? It shows there are comments but if you click on them there is nothing. I commented on the Merge article but it isn't there even though it shows one comment. The latest article has two comments but clicking on them gets nothing...

Re: A900 and the future - some questions...

As I said before, take the 700, stuff in the new 16MP or a new 18-20 MP sensor- something that doesn't have the mushiness of the 77's sensor - and update it with the rear screen from the new models, with all the wiz-bang firmware update (except video) and I'll buy it. Most of the work's already don...

Re: DXO Optics 7.1 now available - A77 and A65 supported

DxO is a great program but not as a stand alone converter. It's power is the ability to use it for what it does best and then export a DNG file to open in ACR and use what it does best. You have the option of using either the DxO or ACR color profiles. The default presets are very usable for batch c...

Re: A77 Ver 1.04

The yellow cast I was getting is gone now. The colors are more neutral now. No one else has noted this so I'm offering this... The A65 is a small camera and when holding it by the grip the back of your palm wraps around and pushes the WB button. If you hold it, it keeps going to the adjustment page...

Re: Getting used to a77

After trying to find a way to adjust the front focus on my A65 it doesn't seem to have the three screw adjustment like the A55 and older cameras. This makes me think there might be a hidden test mode to go in and adjust it like a one shot micro adjust. It would be nice to know this if it was true. C...

The improved Auto ISO adjustments are good but I wish Sony would have added Auto ISO in Manual Mode.

Re: My Underwater Pictures Museum Exhibit

Thanks for looking and the comments, everyone. Dave, your friend has a good idea. I wish I could move to the Caribbean. As to the clear water. I try to get in as soon as the ice recedes to get the cleanest shots of the year. I've switched from a Sony 11-18 to a Sigma 10/2.8 Fisheye and am anxious to...

My Underwater Pictures Museum Exhibit

Greetings everyone, I finally got around to looking in the picture galleries here and there is lots to see. I wanted to start by posting a link to a gallery that contains the pictures I had printed and framed for an exhibit at the Door County Maritime Museum in Sturgeon Bay, WI USA. They are all pic...

Re: LR vs Adobe Bridge

I'm in full agreement. I have the same issues with "virtual directories". It pains me that Windows has a "virtual desktop".
Using Bridge also makes it easy to right click and open a file in DxO save it to a DNG file and open it in ACR and on to Photoshop.

Re: A700 replacement 2011 25MP...

Thanks I looked at the Sigma unit once Dennis, but doesn't the controller unit stand straight up, or did they release a new model? If the controller is verticle it's difficult to use the RA finder. Greg Thanks for reminding me I have a right angle finder in my camera bag :!: The Sigma controller se...

Re: A700 replacement 2011 25MP...

I bought several Minolta Macro Flash Systems on eBay but ultimately sold them when I could get twice what I paid for them.
I recently purchased a Sigma Flash Macro Ring EM-140 DG for $379US and am very happy with it.

Re: Using the DxO camera profile in ACR

Okay, but that makes me even more curious as to why Dennis is going to all this trouble. Are you saying that the DxO demosaicing is much better than ACR so he wants that, but then wants ACR to do all the other raw processing which it does better than DxO? Each tool in the two programs is different....

Re: Using the DxO camera profile in ACR

You are right about the A700 not working. I have an A700 and A900 and the embedded camera profile is only offered with the A900. As the A900 is my main camera I am very happy with this work flow. The adobe standard camera profile has a magenta cast. DxO's camera profile looks very similar to the pro...

Re: Using the DxO camera profile in ACR

How on earth are you managing to get LENS profiles into the CAMERA profile dropdown menu? You must have installed lens profiles in the wrong directory. I can not imagine what these will do! David Hi David, What you are seeing are camera + lens color profiles made by el_floz on the Dyxum.com forum. ...

Re: Using the DxO camera profile in ACR

When I open the camera profile drop down list in ACR after opening a DNG file exported from DxO a new profile is added at the top of the list called embedded.
