My a700 is just about wore out...so im looking ffo a back up. Should I scoop up this camera or go $150 more and get a a580? THis is the kit with the 18-75 SAM lens.

NO but it works fine with my a700.

This is a bummer, lens will not lock, just hunts. Anyone hear anything? I downloaded and installed both the NEX-3 ver.3 and the adaptor ve.2 firmware updates.

Wanted the 5 but found the 3 locally. Took it to the zoo here alond with the a700 (siggy 150-500 SSM). The NEX did very well, got the 18-55 lens on it. I was not disssapointed, great camera! Ill get some pics up soon. Ordering the adapter tomorrow.

Retainer, Main Mirror, was the part, professionally installed locally for $30.00 (parts and Labor).

Well in lieu of the $458 flat rate repair of my a700, I found an a300 kit (unused) with a batt grip and an 8gig CF card for $400 so I bought it as a back up. I had Sony send me the camera back and found a local Sony authorized repair shop. He says they can fix it for alot less. Dang Sony you are jus...

The plastic piece is missing, they are having the technician call me monday to explain the repairs that will be done.

$458.00 flat rate repair fee..sheesh, it was one small piece of plastic that fell off of the mirror.

OK my a700 is out of warranty and the mirror is sliding out of its bracket. seems that somehting is missing that should hold the mirror in. Anyone else have this problem. How much do you think this will cost. And what Sony dslr should I buy as a replacement/back up.

Found this hognose snake swimming across on of the lakes I monitor water quality in. Pretty cool harmless snake that looks very intimidating. He was released unharmed.

I carry my a700 on my kayak...no problems yet!
