Re: small band

Seen at a local re-enactment in Wiltshire - more Warmington-on-Sea than Battle of the Bulge!
Perhaps a sepia version would suit this too? Any views?

Re: The a mount is going mirrorless according to SAR

I don’t mind at all if Sony wants to dabble with some A-mount diversion, that’s fine, what I want in the meantime (in case one of mine carks it) is a fully functional, up with the latest technology, reliable, still shooting DSLR designed for photographers, and what’s more I want it to remain compat...

Re: NEX-7

Thanks Pako.
Essentially I want it all - sports action, planes, trains, automobiles, and landscapes, and wildlife. Wouldn't mind having a go at portraits too. And street photography could be fun.
Do I need it - a whole different question, and that's the problem with GAS.

Re: NEX-7

Visited Castle Cameras in Salisbury last night - they had a Sony demo with Paul Genge and a few goodies. NEX-7, A77, A65 and several lenses. My main conclusion - I want one to replace my A550 when the time comes (including when the price is right), but which one? The A77 felt like a "proper&quo...

Same problem with my 42, on A550 and previously on A100.

Re: More Fall Colors

I seem to have found some good weather this weekend, or been in the right place at the right time (although an even better place would have been Zion NP  ). Took some time out from visiting my parents to visit the New Forest in search of autumn colour. All taken with A550 + Minolta 24-105. ...

Re: Photos with evidence of the photographer

I could have posted this in the DT30/2,8 thread, but decided to follow in UrsaMajor's paw prints with this bedraggled specimen. She goes by the name of Poppy and takes a dim view of anyone who fails to recognise her right to eat, sleep, and investigate (noisily) anything unfamiliar. _DSC0552 edit.jp...

Re: Sigma 17-35mm EX DG lens Sony Fit

I have one which I use occasionally on my Dynax 7 (film), so occasionally that I am considering whether to sell on to part-fund some other lens which might prove more useful. Seems OK with film but really haven't used it enough to give a proper report, and don't have an a850 :( . Don't use it on the...

Re: Tall Ships Hartlepool 2010

Thank you Yildiz, Dr.Harout and Birma. I was unhappy about the inflatable too, Greg. Plenty of them buzzin' around looking for toddlers falling in the drink. Thought about cloning it out, but would leave the centre of the scene empty with nothing to tie the two quays together. Final two from me - al...

Re: Tall Ships Hartlepool 2010

I really like #3 of the series. I went on Monday, and the weather was nowhere near as good - mostly overcast with a few showers, but that didn't put off the crowds. Given the conditions I tried to produce something with a "period" feel - did I succeed? Please let me know. DSC00367 B&W ...
