Lovely shots indeed!
The last of the photo-merge is exceptional.

Thanks for sharing, Howard.

Thanks!

Not my strongest suit playing around with Photoshop, but I had the sequence in camera and eventually figured out away to get the bigger backdrop as well as the bird taking off.

It's good to see this forum back and free of spam. Here are a few Minolta AF 500mm Reflex shots from the archive: https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50311303671_a4acfa1881_b.jpg Gull feeding | A7 III https://live.staticflickr.com/835/26762373057_69dd2698da_b.jpg Red kite in a tree | A7 III https://...

Excellent work! Can you explain further how you fixed the mount adaptor?

Re: MD mount lenses, what's hot or not!

There are lots of great Rokkor lenses; the 200 f/4 is worth looking out for and makes a nice top end to a range of primes. The 50mm f/1.4 is an affordable alternative to the f/1.2. I also won a 90mm Tamron SP macro 1:2.5 in an auction. It came with the X-700 I was after undocumented by the seller. I...

Re: Minolta camera collection

I came to Minolta film cameras after I got my A100; before that I had all sorts of SLRs, including a string of Olympuses ending in the iS-3000, a nice 35-180 all-in-one zoom body. My first Minolta film SLR was a Dynax 5 (for AF mount compatibility) and then earlier this year I went on a spree of man...

Re: Moon Shot

Thanks for your kind words, Dr H.

I'd have thought this beer particularly well known amongst users of our cameras:

Re: Moon Shot

I've found that the spot meter reading points to an exposure of around 1/400 s at f/11 with ISO at 400 ... which would translate to 1/100 s at ISO 100. I took this picture resting the camera on a coat in Crete a couple of months ago - that was with a 300mm lens too. I think your half-moon is more in...

Re: hi8 to dvd

The last generation of Sony Digital 8 camcorders could read analogue Hi8 tapes and play them out as digital signals via a Firewire cable. So if you can get your hands on something like a Sony TRV480E (the model I have) you won't have to go through a PC videocard (where they may be some loss of quali...
