Re: The future Alpha 99

Hi All

FFB happened quite a bit on my A350 and still happens on my A550, even with fully charged batteries.. I always fire off a few frames after turning it on.. the FFB seems to happen more often after a power off to on, and not so often after wake from sleep. well for the 2 bodies I've owned.

Re: Christmas sales

http://www.dwidigitalcameras.com.au have the A77 body at AU$799, I know they ship from HongKong , But you do get Australian power cords , (well on the Sony 2 cameras I've seen purchased from there) and warranty is handled by DWI not Sony AU.

Re: after all these long years of buying cameras and as soon

merry christmas to all, my 2 cents worth, I would not be surprised if 90% of photos are taken with mobile photos, but I would also not be surprised if the DSLR market is much larger then the Film SLR market ever was...(would also not surprised if during pre digital days, 90% of photos where taken on...

Re: Sony Alpha A99 Field Test Report

nice shot Dr. in what looks like difficult lighting. To my untrained eye, I would be happy with a shot like that..

I was thinking of upgrading my A550 to an A57, but am now going to hold off till end of 2013 and get an A99 at what I hope will be a much lower price then it's current price :)

Re: after all these long years of buying cameras and as soon

But by far the biggest issue for Sony is they always seem on the back foot, rather than leading the pack. If the A99 turned up a year ago it might have had much more impact. They're not short of cash, but possibly a bit short on expertise in cameras. yep, Sony keep making basic mistakes that a comp...

Re: anyone used the sony DT 30/2.8 Macro SAM lens?

thanks all, I had a play with a 50mm marco lens in a store, when I get home tonight , I'll set my sigma to 50mm and see what I get, At present, at 200mm and 60cm focus distance, I only get DOF of around 0.31cm and at 100mm the DoF only grows to 1.42cm at f16. I still have to make quite a large crop....

Re: 18-250mm sigma or sony

I have the 18-250mm OS HSM and the A550 feels like a new camera :)
was using the old sigma 17-50 and tamron 70-300 Di, the tamron was OK but suffered badly from CA and the sigma was just bad...

Sigma 18-250 OS HSM is just great, (unskilled opinion :) )

Re: DPreview posts incorrect information on Sony DSLRs?

Focus tracking is mentioned in the A99 preview. Mix in this on sensor phase detect I would imagine it would do well for AF accuracy. On the other hand if you're good you can follow the action with a single AF point or group of points. True, the theory with subject tracking is , it supposed to handl...

DPR say A57 RAW images are best in class?

Hi All Does anyone here have a A57, thinking of upgrading my A550 to one, was impressed with DPR review, but did they get it right?, looking at their RAW image test, the A57 seem to be miles better than the A65 at iso1600 and higher, is there really that much difference in real world photos?. Cheers...
