Re: A77II ramblings and thoughts

I do it old school. I attach a 3.0 USB adapter to my Samsung tablet; insert the SD card from a camera into the adapter; then transfer selected images to MS OneDrive on my tablet; then I can get those images at my convenience, on any of my computers or devices, that includes my Blackberry KeyOne smar...

Yes, nice capture of the eyes, even without Animal AI on the 77ii.

Re: DC by Night

The "Art of Photography" has a video on layering in Capture One. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vm2m2F-vevg

I think that layering will replace your need for dodging and burning tool.

Re: 3 Alphas at once

I only see camera phones out there. I maybe the only one around here with still working A-mount cameras. Yes, I still have a working A350. Yesterday, the pop-up flash capacitor in the A580 gave up the flash, but it still works with external flashes. The A-mount, just slowly dies. My KM 7D lives on. ...

Re: Where's David?

Oh, I just read, under another Topic, about the passing of David's wife, Shirley. I'm so sorry. I was just thinking about David these past days. Now, this untimely Passing of his wife happens. I guess, I would have known about it, if I read other forums. I'm so sorry.

Where's David?

I am just wondering about David Kilpatrick. I haven't seen any of his postings or articles in a long while, even on GeeExtreme or what ever. I hope he is OK. Maybe someone could inform me, if David is OK. Did he pass on, gone Howard Hughes on us, or just being a bar keep at a pub? Maybe he is playin...

Re: From my recent trip to Cambodia

Sury, I enjoyed your images. I always say, that street scene images should tell a story, if at all possible. Well, I especially liked the first image, that showed a blend of cultures in cuisines. It made me think. Did you see any McDonald's or Starbucks? I wonder how long it would take for Mexican a...

Re: Sarmonic Preampifires & Audio Adapters

Pako, Thank you for all of your ideas. I can mix+match with all the audio options. Considering all the added weight from all the audio adapters, cables etc., I'm thinking again about the Panasonic FZ-2500, that has it all for audio, except maybe not the best glass. From what I've read, Sony has the ...

Re: Sarmonic Preampifires & Audio Adapters

Pako, Thank you for your comments. The Tascam 40 looks like a good option. I wish it has a hot shoe foot. I'd rather not have to hold it while I operate the camera. Maybe a double cold-shoe connection to a bracket would be an option. I like the looks of the hammer & Anvil microphone. I'm disappo...

Sarmonic Preampifires & Audio Adapters

As you know, the Sony digital cameras, DSLRs and mirror-less, do not have any connections for headphones and no audio adjustments. I just discovered several products, that offer the capabilities of audio controls and headphone connections. I think the Sarmonic CA Mixer condenser microphone kit and t...

Re: Any a57 users here?

Marco: The A57 has a lot of new features that I kike, plus it has gimmicks that I will never use. I like the AF zoom and color peaking. I'm guessing that the mount might not be as strong as previous Alphas, because there is a caution in the A57 Handbook, to support a long telephoto lens and camera w...

Re: Any a57 users here?

I just bought the A57. It's a wonderful camera, that requires time to learn all the features. The A57 Handbook PDF, that comes with the software disk, has a lot more information than you get on the booklets. I was thrilled that Adobe upgraded PS CS5, with Camera RAW 6.7 for the A57. Now I don't need...

Questions on electronic first curtain shutter

I am curious on the relationship between the Sony Alpha and Canon electronic first curtain shutters. I found the article below that has some information on the Canon electronic first curtain shutters. I assume the 60D and The T3i must also have an electronic first curtain shutter, but those DSLRs ar...
