Re: Nex7 noise performance is simply fabulous
Pako, there are two comments - first: the boyz need to focus their 'real-world' 24/16Mp comparison shots better, OOF Nex7 can't win even in raw despite better noise performance; second: the Nex5N definitely produces much better JPEGs and much better ready for use they are while the 7 gets the same ...

Re: Sony OLED Electronic Viewfinder for NEX-5N Camera
No level bar. The EVF is simply showing the same LCD image data. If you don't have that EVF, you may just hook your HDMI TV up the output of the cam, and there you go - that's the image you get in the EVF. It's the same as you get on the cam's LCD, but the HDMI video signal is encoded so that scree...

[quote="agorabasta"]Pako, there's no such thing as an SLT-specific softness.

Are you saying that there isn't a slight resolution loss from the SLT mirror?

Here is a little thread I started about the Hawks with a couple of mfd pics.

Re: best adapters
I have a cheapie adapter, a Metabones, a Voigtlander and a Hawks Helicoid M adapter, and while the Voigtlander are the great regular adapters, the Hawks Helicoid is fantastic. It cuts your M lens mfd by around half, and it nails infinity focus with my ZM lens. I haven't used the others since.

Re: NEX-7 announcement in three months time?
After inquiring about micro lenses, I just received an email back from someone that works in the business closely with sensor design, and he essentially told me that, if the microlenses on the NEX-7 (or new Ricoh) are optimized for wide angle RF lenses, the negative effect that it has on longer lens...

Re: NEX-7 announcement in three months time?
Yeah, while the exit pupils of long M lenses are certainly closer to the sensor than equivalent SLR lenses, the exit pupils of long M lenses are still quite a bit further away from the sensor than wide M lenses. So, I guess the question is, where is the tipping point?

Re: NEX-7 announcement in three months time?
Agorabasta, would not the same issues apply to the M9's micro lenses, since a Leica 90mm lens would be more tele centric than a Leica 21mm lens? Is there not a happy medium to be found with the micro lenses on the edges?

Re: NEX-7 announcement in three months time?
Bossel, I really do not need 24 Mp either. 16Mp would do fine for me. Problem: if the next generation of NEX, incorporating an EVF only is available with 24Mp and AF/AE is greatly improved then I am stuck with 24Mp whether I need it or not. So I want lenses which cover my range (near enough 16 to 3...

Re: No live view on SAM 35mm
never mind. :) I have to say the same. I don't know what settings I was using in the snow, but I just tested again and though the aperture does not close untill the shutter releases, the view dims as it should in M A and S modes when you go outside the parameters. so, sorry about that, seems just f...

Re: a580 beats a55, matches D7000 DXO reports
I'm confused about DxO scores. If they testing sensor (as they clamed), they should move mirror away and test only sensor. How the same sensor could get different score? How sensor could lose DR just with translucent mirror? It is corrupted by different processing? With A55 mirror in the way, senso...

Re: Sony Ultra wide conversion lens VCL-ECU1 - Any users?
I think dpreview's test of the 16mm lines up with my experiences. Very sharp in the center at f2.8, but not so at the edges. Corners are okay from f5, and the very, very extreme corners never get really sharp. If I need sharp extreme corners, I shoot at f8 and sometimes crop just a little out. All i...

Re: That Fuji X100 got me thinking
I like the X100, and I have plenty of interchangeable lens cameras. If the sensor is up to snuff, I'll probably bite. Reminds me of my Olympus 35 SP.
