I bought a battery from Linkdelight.com when I got my A700, 3 years ago. Charges to 99% but still going.
After using the A77 for while I decided to buy 2 more last summer. These charged to 100%.
I have no complaints so far. Cost was only $10 each.

Re: Minolta 100-300mm f/4.5-5.6 APO or 75-300 Beercan
I have the 100-300 D APO. I was thinking of selling it, but with the A77 it focuses so much better than with the A700, I decided to keep it. The D version is apparently better at the long end than the wide end although I really don't see any difference. Everything looks good to me.

A77 versus Full frame
I played with my wimpy tripod and laser pointer again. I used a Minolta 200/2.8 with a Minolta 2X TC.
No movement of laser at all with centre post down. If I raised the centre post then I get movement.
The movement came at the end of the mirror/shutter cycle.

Re: A77 versus Full frame
Here is a quite different story after making some tests with two Sony cameras: http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1037&message=40213737 Mirror vibration is for sure an issue for some of my work. That's a very telling demonstration, Magnar. Well done! Ed I wonder if my wimpy tripod...

Re: A77 versus Full frame
When talking about noise I found the difference between these cameras neglible, with just a bit more visible noise from the A77 at ISO 3200 and 6400 (I don't shoot at higher ISO settings). For my real world work the difference doesn't matter sincethe visual impression of my photographs are not affe...

LR 3.5
Is it my imagination what I a seeing in 3.5.
All my photos seem to look better than in previous versions. Scans, a100, a700, HX5V, even thumbnails look better.
Is anyone else seeing this or is my eyesight getting better?

Re: Annoying Ads on DK's Articles
Every time I try to read one of David's articles on this site, I get an annoying square advertisement on the left-hand side of the page that covers up some of David's text. There doesn't seem to be any way to move or delete the ad in order to read the text. Is this happening on other people's compu...
