Re: New Orleans, LA, USA

"I was struggling to get the crocodile into the patch of sunlight."

Did you consider strapping some raw chicken thighs to your legs and wading in?

Excellent shot.

"forcing me to wear it backwards"

Once again proving your "street cred".

Re: Another Nut Job

Wonderful stuff.
Nice to see the ZA 85 getting some work. Still a magnificent lens.

Re: Another Nut Job

Exceptional, all of them. The light was changing but you knew it.
I like this line:
"That means that I’m am constantly running and spinning in circles".
A dancer indeed.

No Sympathy

for us. We lost our dog today. As hard as it is, we have our memories. This was my best shot. A random day, just holding the camera in my kitchen, and the background floor matching the color of her coat. She walked up and gave me her usual quizzical look and then I pressed the button. Indy- 15 years...

Re: Rome, Italy

Been away for a while. Had to get a new laptop and recreate my online life.
Looking at these makes me feel anxious about traveling and making sure I have the right gear.
That 3rd one is extra special. Thanks for taking us along.

"just for the fun of it"
That is exactly what I was getting at. Your fun is deep and wide.
I prefer to keep it a bit loose.
How about this?

Re: Milkyway Redux

I bet you have mentioned your profession in this forum before but I can't recall what it was or is. If I had to guess, it would be mathematics, engineering, or some scientific endeavor. Your love of process shines through. This is not criticism, just an observation. I readily admit that I do not poss...

Re: Milkyway Redux

The price for enhancing the Milky Way was some star streaking at the top right and blurring of the landscape at the bottom left. I have no idea how the software managed to enhance contrast and saturation in the Milky Way section of the image and why that couldn't be achieved with Lightroom. More imp...

The 1st HDR image is magic. Bravo.
I cannot conceive of capturing that kind of image while on vacation. You are always on the job.
Secondly, a genuinely happy face never disappoints. So glad you had such a good time.

Re: Too Much Speed

I sent a thank you note to Gary Friedman for his e-book on the RX100 vii and included a link to the video as an example for using the high frame rate feature on the camera. He suggested that the shortly to be released next version would give the video a mention. Pretty cool. JT http://www.friedmanar...

Re: Too Much Speed

Took video clips of golf swings. Can't imagine anybody else cares to see old men swing golf clubs but they really found it valuable.

I have some new ideas for slow motion videos. They are memory hogs though. 240 frames per second adds up quickly.
