Re: Show us PORTRAITS

Your last image is a fine example of my point. Crop her at the shoulder and something else happens.
Our equipment catches us sometimes. Even within those constraints, we can find beauty.

Re: Show us PORTRAITS

Good evening folks. Recently, I find myself trying to crop these images to find something more personal. The ice block and the drummer are prime examples where one can find an image within the image. Crop the ice line at the top, and the drum stick and I bet you will see something different and wort...

Re: Nutcracker from Backstage

Again, fine work.
Ever thought of getting close enough for live action portraits?

Re: A99-2

Very nice. You have probably stated this earlier in the thread, but what was the focus setting?
All the best.

Re: At the Dam

And now for the red meat, well, white meat actually. Part 2 a77II and Tamron 150-600mm. I have to say that I still struggle with which focus setting I should use for the a77II in this circumstance. Not sure if my hit rate is good or needs improvement. http://a4.pbase.com/g10/64/511964/2/166705282.Lg...

At the Dam

Conowingo Dam supports one of the largest bald eagle populations on the east coast. That population swells in December as migrating eagles find it a good place to rest and fatten up for the journey south. Fish that flow through the dam become disoriented and end up easy catches for the birds and opp...

Re: After the Storm

Interesting comment. Not one person that I spoke to in Florida mentioned climate change. Who among us knows why these folks are focused on other things. I wish I knew the answers to these questions. The question of Antarctica's ice mass is hotly debated. Same for the Arctic. I only wanted to show th...

Watching them hug after crawling out of the hull was interesting. Maybe a few more. http://a4.pbase.com/g10/64/511964/2/166591466.qdlMhbwF.jpg http://a4.pbase.com/g10/64/511964/2/166591482.XRBiL5qA.jpg http://a4.pbase.com/g10/64/511964/2/166591452.gT2aThUq.jpg

After the Storm

One cannot visit the Florida Keys without feeling the impact of Hurricane Irma. Debris is placed in front of houses, formed in piles on the side of the road, and staged for processing in centrally located areas. Just minutes from the home where I stayed is a refrigerator graveyard. It processes units...

Re: Powerboat Races

Yes, these boats do tend to flip. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NpNM7K8NJ2M I was 100 yards from the incident and was recording video at the time. Unfortunately, I was holding the camera above my head and when the boat took off, I lost my orientation and missed the shot. Total fail. Regardless, fa...
