Re: Portrait
Somehow that 1st shot is so classical and everlasting. I would had shot without that flower in her mouth, but that would be just another shot. But that flower in her mouth, which looks so out of place, suddenly makes that photo sticks in my head. To me, that is an amazing shot.

Re: Waterfall at Lipur Forest Reserve - Kota Kinabalu
Oh my.... I am 100% sure the forestry rangers are not going to like me if I am to do the stuff you suggested I do (not that I am particularly good with ropes to begin with! never was a boys scout. Was in the Boy's Brigade though...) anyway, i actually do love your suggestion. If only there is a way ...

Re: Waterfall at Lipur Forest Reserve - Kota Kinabalu
The waterfall is about three times bigger than I thought it was, it would probably look good also from further back with a longer lens, even from a highter vantage point maybe, if there was a clear shot that is. Greg Greg, good suggestion. But I am afraid there ain't no vantage point where I can ta...

Re: Waterfall at Lipur Forest Reserve - Kota Kinabalu
Thanks everyone for the thoughts & encouragement! Really good! Anyway, some of my photo buddies actually snipped me at the waterfall while I was taking those shots. Thought of sharing with you guys the condition at the location, so here goes (p/s: the guy in the pictures is me!) http://a2.sphoto...

Re: Waterfall at Lipur Forest Reserve - Kota Kinabalu
Greg , I do have a shot with less of the log and more of the waterfall, but I didn't really get the effect I wanted. I couldn't quite "feel" that shot. I believe the log in the first shot was due to some errant illegal logging (although I could be wrong). But you are right, I should proba...

Re: Waterfall at Lipur Forest Reserve - Kota Kinabalu
Hello Birma, many had asked me the same question. Actually it wasn't my intention to leave the ND8 filter on, as it was unnecessary for that shot. However, as I was on my way up that slippery cliff, my hands were covered with mud and so happened the ND8 filter was on the camera. There was no way I w...

Waterfall at Lipur Forest Reserve - Kota Kinabalu
I had a nice opportunity to go to this long forgotten (in fact, I didn't even know it existed!) forest reserve here in my homeland. The trek was treacherous, slippery & soft (thanks to the extended raining season & the nature of a tropical rain forest). Almost slip countless times. But the p...

Re: When drizzles didn't turn into rain.....
I know this may not the right place to discuss about this but do you guys think these 4 photos can be submitted as stock photo? My originals were done in cRAW. I had never attempted to sell any of my photos online or anywhere else for that matter. Not sure what are the standards required in order fo...

Re: A77, am I the first to notice?
Hello guys, not trying to prolong any war of words or anything, but just wanna share more images of the so called A77 here. Saw this on pocket-lint. http://cdn.pocket-lint.com/images/zDlY/sony-see-through-camera-concept-hands-on-10.jpg?20110307-144355 I'm just happy to see the x-sync port! The...

Re: When drizzles didn't turn into rain.....
Hello, Greg. The first photo was shot in a very narrow time gap where the balance of the lighting is just spot on. Earlier and it was too dark and later it was too bright. Later still was worst, they switched off the lights on the jetty! I think I had only about 10 minutes for this shot. Managed to ...

Re: When drizzles didn't turn into rain.....
Thanks, aster for your tips. Will keep that in mind for future (although I hope I don't repeat the same mistake again!). Dr. Harout, thanks for dropping in. To both of you: Thanks for your kind words of encouragement. This means a lot to a hobbyist like me who is trying to improve on my photography!...
