Re: A99?
What file sizes could we expect from a 36mp camera and what would be the best software to edit these.
Re: Lens Hire
Thank you David for the prompt reply. The lens was actually for a friend of mine and after weighing up all the pro's and cons she has decided to purchase one of these. Unfortunately she tried one on her a900 on the Sony stand at Focus on Imaging and hasn't stopped talking about it ever since. Someti...
Lens Hire
I hope I'm in the right area for this, apologies if not. Could anyone tell me where I could hire a sony 70-200G, perhaps for a few days. Thanks in anticipation.

Re: Focus Stacking
I have to say that my first try was fairly good. I only took 5 shots focusing my way down the subject [fruit] but then took 10 shots and processed the subject again. The result was very good and when you look at the first and last images before processing you will see what I mean. I used a tripod. f...

Re: Focus Stacking
Erm? well I'm not really one for answering my own posts but came across a free download called CombineZP so I tried it. I took 5 manual shots at f2.8, focusing from back to front and then let the programme blend them together. It works very well as long as you leave a small area at the edges of the ...

Focus Stacking
Hello all, apologies if this has previously been discussed but has anyone any info on focus stacking add ons/stand alone software. I thought about getting a tilt/shift lens to increase the depth of field of landscape photography but they are quite expensive. Could an add on be used with elements 8 a...

Re: Medium range Telephoto
Yep, it looks like I did look at the 55-200 re NEX, silly me? but I am looking forward to seeing what finally transpires re the a77 as I'm sure a many are. I will however wait and see the review by this site as to what the experts think. They have all been pretty good so far.

Re: Medium range Telephoto
Thanks guys, the lens would actually be used for fast action shots and perhaps the 70-200G would do the job but I was wondering whether Zeiss might be releasing something soon as I find that their lenses offer so much better quality [at a price of course] I also understand that the minolta 80-200 f2...

Medium range Telephoto
Hi all, I understand that there will soon be a 55-200mm to be released sometime mid year. I need something fairly fast and sharp for use with the a900, any recommendations or should I wait. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Sony to invest $1.2 billion in CMOS production
Apparently Sony are going to start producing sensors for Nikon, according to Sonyalpharumours. They say that the sensors will be for a high end completely new pro mirrorless Nikon camera possibly in the 25mp range. I hope I got that right? I wonder what the odds would be of Sony buying Nikon???

A2 Printers
Hello, I have been looking at various printers up to A2 size. The Epson stylus pro 3880 has caught my eye and the quality of some of the test prints taken from my own photos are excellent. Has anyone used one of these before or perhaps someone might suggest an alternative. Any suggestions would be g...

Flash accessories
Hello all, does anyone know where I can get a flash accessory kit i.e. snoot, softball, barn door ets that would fit on the end of either a sony HVL42AM or the HVL58AM. From what I'm led to believe the adapter fits on the flashgun and then the accessories can be changed as and when required. Thank y...

Re: Rumour says, A900/A850 firmware update due in February
Yes Dusty I've just read the same thing, possibly by the end of next week. I wonder what we can expect. Sony are offering major discounts on the a850/900 and on some lenses as well. Obviously a big push on their part
