Re: More from Gustav on Sony Alpha in 2010

I think in South Africa, things are a bit better. They try hard with the availible funds. I am an ameteur, but I know some of the Sony technicians. The people are eager to help. I am sure it will take some time for the big camera shops to take Sont seriously. I am hoping that the Soccer will help to...

Re: Lens Decision time.....Bigma....or....?

I have been through the same dilemma, forget about the Sigma and go for the Sony 70400G. The lens is fantastic.

Buying a Sigma is not a bad idea, but you will always wonder waht if?

What if I waited a bit and bought the sharper lens.

Something to ponder about!

Good luck, and keep on shooting!

Re: SAL70400G

I got a new filter today. They have exchanged it without any problems. They also ran some test, and it was remarkable to see the difference. The problem is not that obvious shooting subjects 5-7m, but going futher 10-20m the results are shocking! At least I know now how to test focus, back focus and...

All the trouble, while meantime it is something as obvious as a filter. Is it possible that the filter has a defect? I foought that I bough...

Re: SAL70400G

I got the lens back from Sony. They were not able to find any fault. They said they have run some diagnostic tests. I have ask them to show me the test. They took four photos of leaves with different f-stops. I dont know. I am not satisfied, seeing that my photos is not sharp at all. The main guy al...

I was so excited, but in the bush I don't seem to get sharp images on 400mm F5.6. i am using a tripod with remote switch, and without one I have shoot at faster than 1/1500sec. Saterday the lens also didn't want to move past 100mm to 70mm. On sunday the lens moved pa...
