there are others with just that pairing who are very happy with it - either he has a faulty body or it's a switchology/user error.

Re: Will there really be an A99ii

Basically what you have is a mature market largely comprised of older users. Many of what new ILC users there are are so used to using a rear screen (compact/phone) that even if their new ILC has a viewfinder they don't use it. An A6000 with a viewfinder is not expensive & is a very capable came...

Re: Will there really be an A99ii

as I said on another thread, My old Canon 550D exhibits better IQ in my opinion than my Sony cameras, although I think my little A37 challenges that. are you shooting jpeg or at default settings? Canon's default jpegs are very punchy (not necessarily very true to real life though). Where is Sony go...

Re: Will there really be an A99ii

Sony are selling E-mount cameras at lower price levels instead of SLT. A-mount for now will be for those who need faster AF & larger bodies to balance larger, heavier lenses like 300/2.8. Canon & Nikon are both seeing large declines in DSLR sales & are also concentrating on higher models...

Re: Sony A77 II Shooter’s Report

The best APS-C action camera is the 7D MkII. It has the best AF, good buffer & whilst Canon's sensors are beaten at low ISO by Nikon/Sony's the gap closes up at higher ISO which is where you need it for action. & of course a wider range of teles than Sony. The body is twice the price but the...

Re: Support program

It is just starting so better to keep it small whilst they learn & iron out the bugs. Then they can grow it to include enthusiasts.

Re: Another boost to A7/R

Here's another comparison, both similarly-sized with small zoom lenses, but the Oly is cheaper: http://camerasize.com/compact/#382.409,478.360,ha, it's also a year older so prices will be further along the sliding scale of decline from launch ... & I haven't even looked to see how they compare ...

Re: What to do next?

The Nikon DF is already receiving critisism for being too big in comparison to the old SLR's its supposed to be emulating, yet, there is a 6 Month waiting list for this camera, so that must tell us something. There isn't a 6 month waiting list in the US or the UK ( & I presume the rest of Europ...

Re: What to do next?

If you think OVF’s are dead check out the Df sales, Nikon can’t keep up with the demand, if you order one now you will wait 6 months before you get it, (according to a Nikon chief) In Japan maybe but in other developed markets around the world they are in stock & apparently not exactly flying o...

Re: SAR: A77 update coming, no A65 update

Let's put it like this..it's quite possible in a few months that Sony will only have A £300 entry model, and a new A77 one for over £1000 and the A99 for £1700 odd) It's also quite possible that they will introduce another model in between. Or it has been suggested that the future policy will be to...

Re: SAR: A77 update coming, no A65 update

tbh I never understood why they introduced the A65 in the first place as imo it was too close to the A77.
As for the QX series apparently they have sold well - demand outpacing stock/manufacturing.
