Re: 2 years for Evan today :-)

Reminds me of my father giving me my first ´driving lesson´ when I was 12. On meadow ground, better said polder ground as that was in Holland. After the first hurdles of getting the gear engaged and the car (a Renault Dauphine!) running smooth but faster than I expected, my father yelled ´turn left ...

Happy birthday to the next generation!
Love that picture with the kid lugging the 400mm... Did your heart miss a beat there for fear of he dropping it?

So, is it indicative of what you´ll find inside, in terms of service (hopefully not of food)?

Good catch, as usual!

Nice ones Henry, especially the first. I use to do it also that way occasionally, even almost always in those countries where people start trying to cash as soon as they spot a camera, or yell at you it´s forbidden to take pictures! My new toy has greatly enhanced my street experienc...

Re: Fishing for fish

Here are some fishing boats in Japan in 1988. Notice the glass floats hanging from the boats. I don't think they are used anymore though. I haven't seen them for years. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glass_float That´s a very nice one again. What happened to the floats, what replaced them? Don´t tell...

Re: New Sony FF announced

True, but if it´s a ´one of´ in the future, I don´t need to buy that one right away. With the usual lifecycle, it would allow me much longer to wait until my A900 breaks, then buy the OVF successor if ever, go on happily shooting, maybe even until the end of my life! Otherwise, maybe I wil...

Re: New Sony FF announced

Interesting surely a PR attempt to appease A Mount users after Nikon's D800 arrived. ...ala there is a 24mp FF SLT this year and probably a 36mp SLT next year. If it comes this year, it shouldn´t be SLT: Mark Weir hinted at his interview at CES that they were not ready for that, didn´t succeed in p...
