You can do just about anything, including simulate this style with filters in ps, from a good normal exposure, when done that way you can play around and still have a good photo. And that's my two bits.

I purchased the excellent ebook by Gary L Friedman which included a description of and instructions for using the microadjust. Printed the target and checked it out. all my lenses were right on requiring no adjustment so I left it turned off. However, one never knows until you do the test.....
