Re: NEX-5 owner looking for decent macro lens

Thanks for the input guys. I went with Pako's recommendation in the end and bought a Minolta MD 50mm f1.4 and a Vivitar Minolta MD 70-210mm f3.5 Macro plus an adapter all from Ebay! Looking forward to trying them! I don't mind using MF as I've been practising with MF on the 18-55mm kit lens. Will r...

Re: NEX-5 owner looking for decent macro lens

Thanks for the input guys! Yeah the mount adapters aren't too bad cost wise compared to the official A-mount for the NEX series so I have no qualms swapping but there are so many adapters out there (some look the same whilst others look plain cheap). Which adapter are you using for the Minolta Pako?...

NEX-5 owner looking for decent macro lens

Right, after playing around with my NEX-5 for a few weeks I'm looking into extending my lens range to include a macro lens. I've seen that the 30M28 is fairly affordable but cannot find any reviews on it. Has anyone used this lens? Is it any good? If not what would you recommend for a starter macro ...

Re: Some NEX-5 Pictures - Feedback appreciated!

Right. I've been playing around some more with aperture and I think I understand how it affects the sharpness of my shots (kinda). Here's a link to my Flickr account for those who want to see some novice shots lol! Of course feedback is always welcome. I'll update it when I have more to show. http:/...

Re: Some NEX-5 Pictures - Feedback appreciated!

Wow thanks for the feedback guys! I always assumed that aperture at it's highest would always lead to the best pictures since the iris of the lens would let the most amount of light in. I'll try shooting in A mode next time and see what happens. I agree though, the shots aren't as sharps as I was ex...

Some NEX-5 Pictures - Feedback appreciated!

Right!! Got my shiney new NEX-5 yesterday and have been taking lots of pictures during the two days I've owned it so I thought I'd share my results. Bare in mind I am a newbie when it comes to 'composing' shots other than the normal p&s I'm used to doing. I mainly used S priority as I understand...

Re: Nex Cameras as reviewed by DPReview

Really I think those who are lamenting it because they can't change iso in a split second are really clutching at straws especially since Sony have said that the product isn't aimed towards them... Hello and Welcome, The problem with interfaces (mix of buttons and graphic things...) is not how good...

Re: Nex Cameras as reviewed by DPReview

Hi guys, thought I'd chime in here as a p&s user who has a Panasonic TZ7 and was looking to 'move up' in terms of iq. Originally I looked at the Panasonic GF1 and the Olympus E-PL1 but upon hearing of the new Sony NEX-5 I was pretty much sold. I've been reading all the reviews and videos I can f...
