Re: dPreview A77 samples

Thanks greg, yes, basically there is nothing to the 'old style' label, it's just not the ' new style', lol.

Re: dPreview A77 samples

Also, on Imaging resource, the full exif labels the compression as ... Jpeg(old style) This is not normally like that is it? It specifically says--> Jpeg (old style) <-- just like so. And also, Long exposure NR is on. And NR is set to Normal, not low. Best to set it at low. So, when I've been viewin...

Re: dPreview A77 samples

As for now, it does not matter whether or not in camera lens correction is on or off, because it is not functional on the pre-production models that dpreview or imaging re source had. It also is not worth fretting too much about noise as the firmware version is 0.58.

Re: dPreview A77 samples

If you look at dpreview, there is an image of a red steel beam with the blue sky behind it. There is noise in the sky at iso200. However the file size of the 24mp image is 9.7mb. That seems small to me. But, maybe it's correct. Nevermind that, the firmware ver. is 0.58, NR is normal, the jpeg compre...

Re: Adaptor vid-cast

Hello Mr. Kilpatrick and thank you for your video. I was wondering about the a55 7 minute video overheat issue you had. Did you have the steady shot turned on when this happened? I've heard of the overheat issue if the steady shot is on, but was under the impression that if you turn the steady shot ...

Re: SLT a55

Hello, I had some questions and a point of view about the evf in regards to it's usefullness. I am a novice at photography, so my reasoning about the evf is as follows. The evf's offer 100% field of view, much more info in the view, a digital level, and so on. Also the depth of field preview is much...

Re: Q&A with the SLT Development Team

TVM said.... ''So people who have other needs than you are snobs. God forbid, I don't want or need video, but somehow I'm willing to have it on a camera if others want it. The only purpose for the "translucent mirror" is to allow PDAF for video. So I don't need video, but still get the com...

Re: What is the count in the entire world? Maybe 50 posters

The a560/580 uses the np-fm500h battery. The same one that is used by the a700,200,300,350, etc. It does not use the same battery as the nex. The a55/33 uses the same battery as the Nex 5/3.

Re: Q&A with the SLT Development Team

I know that in the a77 there will be an evf, but I am pleased to hear from Sony that this evf will be an improved evf over the a55. Also, the a900 replacements will not be getting an evf until they are as good as or better than an OVF. The live view of Sony is the best in the industry, the lcd flexi...
