Re: Future of A mount

It seems like there are lots of used A99, A77, A900, A850, etc. bodies available for pretty good prices. If I wanted an A-mount body to use with my lenses then I would get one of those. I still have my A700 and A100 packed away with the lenses far away. There just hasn't been all that much new devel...

Re: Future of A mount

Of course I have no special knowledge or insight into what Sony is thinking and I don't make predictions about these things since I most certainly don't know, but it seems to me that there is a good likelihood that Sony will keep the A mount alive for a long time. How many A mount lenses are out in...

Re: Future of A mount

I got a Sony RX100 last year: http://www.photoclubalpha.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=9124 It had 2.0 firmware, but the latest firmware for download is 1.10. It is not the same as the 2.0 firmware for the RX100III, etc. See the thread. Something seems to have changed and it may be some of the in...

Re: Why it's time to move away from Lightroom

Yes, I agree. That is why I still pay for the LR/PS subscription. I bought ACDSee Pro 9 a few years ago and thought it was good. I also bought Aftershot Pro 1 a long time ago and thought it was fairly good too. Both were a lot easier to use and understand than darktable. I tried ASP 3 a couple of ye...

Re: Why it's time to move away from Lightroom

I have seen several recommendations for the series of darktable tutorials done by Bruce Williams. Here is the first one:

It looks like he has several dozen on youtube.

Which Canon are you using now? I used to have a 30D and 60D. Both were wonderful cameras.

Very much I began to think, and it is worth buying the Zeiss 16-35 lens, maybe for the money get the phone Huawei P30 Pro or Huawei P20 Pro, which one has optical zoom from Leica and 40mp? Although Xiaomi continues to amaze me... [ Nice photos! The future of Huawei is sort of cloudy at the moment. ...

I have not checked Rawtherapee for a long time. Apparently it now has local adjustments.

Re: Future of A mount

That reminds me of the 1960s, 1970s, and early 1980s. I would rarely see anyone else with a 35mm SLR or larger camera when I was out and about. Other people just had things such as a 126 Instamatic, 110 camera, or later the ubiquitous 35mm P&S cameras. Now the people who would use an Instamatic,...

Re: Let's post some panoramas

I have not tried those 360 degree websites. In 2002 I did make this 360 degree panorama using my Minolta D7i though. It is 21 vertical photos stitched together. I should probably redo it using current panorama software because it would probably be a bit better. President Johnson's Family Homestead, ...

Here is a new panorama I made this week in Utah outside Santa Clara. 5 raw shots with my Panasonic TX1 (ZS100/TZ100) stitched with Photoshop CC.
