Re: Something every photographer should know

Thanks for the reminder Javelin, About 20 days ago, I actually read on MSN News the true story of a baby being diagnosed with retina cancer with the help of a photo taken by its mother and sent to a friend. The friend realized that something was wrong with the baby's eye and informed the mother. Con...

Re: Leica S2

Hi, That's indeed interesting; more megapixels, double shutter system and coming with a new range of lenses and allegedly higher ISO's with better reslution than Hasselblad... More details and price info will follow after Photokina I suppose. This is indeed a season for cameras and photographers.. :...

Re: Touch of Africa

Ah, a mighty lion! Very impressive indeed...Lions make the top of the list of things that we corrolate with Africa... :D Of course we know Africa is not about the wilderness only, and you have very advanced cities like Johannesburg in South Africa which makes it all the more intriguing to me. You on...

Re: Autumn is coming...

All have very rich colours [SiC], :)
Autumn came to Sweden pretty effectively it seems, I like them all...

Your gallery at Flickr is full of nice shots too, I especially enjoyed the nursed piglets which made me smile. They are very cute with those wriggling tails ..

Re: Touch of Africa

Africa is always interesting! :D
I'm glad you're sharing this beautiful, wild, vast piece of land with us. None of the natural environment or habitat can be found anywhere else with such generous abundance...

Hope to see more,

Re: At the zoo

Very nice thread! :) Animals are very interesting creatures with their various resemblences to human nature. That baboon reminds of ancient Egyptian Pharaohs with the ancient traditional head-dressing with his eyes half-closed and looking so dignified. Maybe it's just me who sees such similarities.....

Re: A900 and 16mm fisheye

You're welcome. :) And here's what Sony says about this lens: "The SAL-16F28 is a superb fisheye lens with a look all its own. This unique lens provides a fascinating perspective on landscapes, cities, crowds and special events. With a 180° angle of view and extraordinary corner-to-corner sharp...

Re: A900 and 16mm fisheye

Certainly Dr. Harout, :) There are two nice threads; first is the 16mm fish eye and the second is the 24-70 Carl-Zeiss thread. Here they are: The nightshot of the Bird's Nest by an early owner of the A900 from Beijing with 16mm fisheye F2.8: http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1037&...

Re: A 70-400mm sample for you

Thank you Dr.Harout! :D That's what I was afraid of! I have no preparations whatsoever for the fast-approaching titles l'll be acquiring eventually... :D ..the grand caliph...or the ambassodor and all those that require grandure...totally unprepared, that I am! Mike shoots only birds then? Am I to a...

Re: A 70-400mm sample for you

The only purchase I've made recently is a Tamron 70-300 to replace my old Mk1 version which sadly passed away after giving good service. I'm still soldiering on with a pair of A100s till I can convince myself to upgrade. Mike Hi Mike, :) I happen to own the A100 at the moment also, would you elabor...

Re: A900 and 16mm fisheye

Thank you Philip, :D This is all invaluable information. I'm glad you've also analyzed the Sigma 12-24 and let us know of its shortcomings on an A900 and in general. The introduction of A900 surely made lens selection harder than before when there were only the APS-C alpha bodies to consider. I'm im...

Re: My Flickr site

Hi Richard, The new additions to your gallery with the 70-300SSM are bright, sharp and vivid in colours. Also the subject matter are very nice indeed. The Ferrari and all... :D One positive mark for this lens. A700 and 70-300SSM make a good pair together. And congratulations to your son for coming i...

Re: A900 and 16mm fisheye

Looking very good Philip, :) The last images I saw online taken with 16mm fisheye on an A900 look outstanding with good vivid colours and sharp details. I heard the performance is not as good with an APS-C dslr's unfortunately, which is rather disappointing. Thanks for sharing your experience and ph...

Re: 17-35mm at 35mm

Hi David, I just wish to thank you for the hard work you put into testing the eligible lenses for the A900. Looks like Minolta is in the lead with better results and the latest samples at your gallery give away a lot about the quality of the images in relation to the lens used. The ducks in flight p...
