What I don't understand...

So it seems couple of people got an A900 to test, like Kiklop, Duncan or Carl G. DK, despite decennies of experience, ongoing connections with Paul G, editor of an alpha-magazine, returns home with empty hands. I'd guess if today I open my own alpha website they'll send me an A900 for testing the ne...

Re: Come to Papa - Canon 5D Mark II

I guess they're going to love you in the Canon forums

btw, what are the storage requirements per minute/second? Do they record proper mpeg (with intermediate frames or whatever they're called) or just a sequence of jpgs, I mean an mpeg where every frame is a full picture?

Re: Come to Papa - Canon 5D Mark II

Certainly not a bad camera, well done Canon. Well done also to Sony for the A900 and Nikon for the D700. But what annoys me, I had a quick look at dpr, are all these "my canon is better thatn your sony than your nikon than your canon" threads. I've decided to stay out of there, look at sam...

Re: water sports

Arrrgghh! Can't post mine, they're just a bit more than 1000 pixels :?

For those who still want to see more jet ski pics, go to http://www.flickr.com/photos/[email protected]/ and go a bit to the past in my photostram (page 2 or 3).

Re: water sports

Cool! Creat catch. Just looks like too much compression. Can you repost bigger and less compressed? I'll post a few similar ones, also from the past and with KM5D.

... as to why the A700 launch appears to have had no effect on sales, which dropped to an all-time low... apparently. A700 launch? wasn't that last year? And the A200etc was launched after that. And the A900 was launched too recently to have any effect already. I wonder the chart - there must be a ...

Re: the wrong way round

Send it to a service that can scan and produce negs for you and don't pay for prints. Tell them specifically not photoCD. you want Hi Rez scans as TIFF's and the negs. I am located in France., went to FNAC for development. They're huge in France, known to be expensive but good service. There was an...

Re: the wrong way round

Nice experience! 2 years after I got my KM 5D I bought a Dynax (40 I think) just for experimenting. It would accept all my lenses and I got it for 30 Euro from eBay, incl. battery :) Shot 4 rolls at christmas (ISO 400) and was shocked about the processing cost and quality of ISO 400! Scanning the ne...

Re: Firmware v04 for Sony Alpha 700

I really wonder what the official release notes will say. This upgrade seems to work wonders! Btw, the pics look cleaner and more detailed, maybe it even increases the megapixels from 12 to 14, did anybody verify?

Re: I am so sorry!

Thanks to everybody for the encouraging comments. Consider all shots as candids, so no way to check for lightening or open eyes...And yes, it took me an awful time to postprocess all pics in ACR and PSE, but it was worth it! I made a DVD for the couple and they were very happy!

What about the new (or old?) pic of yours? Is this traditional Armenian clothing? Otherwise I'd say it looks like Palestinean  But then my knowldge about Armenian and middle east culture and dress code is rather limited

I can see the future :-)

I predicted the price of the 70-400 at $1500 ( http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/readflat.asp?forum=1037&thread=29220684 ) When others said A900 will have 19 focus points, I suspected better (non selectable, additional points in between the main focus points, helps e.g. with tracking).
