Re: French Alps Medieval Village

Thanks to all for all the nice words :D You're saying in-camera JPEG, may I assume you're shooting cRAW+JPEG? Yes, I shot cRaw+JPG. I run a few of the pics through ACR but I found the JPGS are just fine this time, no need to fiddle with sharpness, saturation or WB (maybe for the last one I could che...

French Alps Medieval Village

Today we visited Entrevaux, a medieval village in the French Alps. It's a small hour away from Nice. It was hot (30C/86F) but we decided to climb up to the Citadelle - what a nice view from there and what a torture to get there 8) Anyway, we enjoyed our day and I want to share some pics with you! Al...

Meeting on the hill

Today was very interesting. We visited the medieval village of Entrevaux in the French Alps (I'll post some pics in a seperate thread). Now the interesting thing was, there is this citadelle on top of the mountain and we climbed all the way up, and it was about 30C/86F degrees in the shadow but we c...

Re: Rights to Photos

unless you contracted me to paint the Mona Lisa (I'd call her Betty) on your behalf then it would definatly be your property What if I contract a photographer to photograph my wedding, with my camera, in a studio ? The photographer has still the copyright, I guess. Even I pay for the models, the en...

Only 2 smileys per post?

I just submitted an answer to the 'rights on photos' in this forum, and it was rejected because it contained 3 smileys  There was an error message 'only 2 smileys per post are allowed'. Can we raise this to 5 or make it dependend on the length of the post? :|

Re: Rights to Photos

From a practical point of view, first, who will ever claim his rights, they don't even know who you are. Second, if the snapshot they take of you in front of the Louvre or whatever suddenly becomes famous, how can they proove they took it? Edit: Ops I didn't see you're going to publish these pics, g...

Re: we are almost there: A900

Concerning the preview, what about this: When switched on, you half-press the shutter. If then within 0.1 second you don't press the shutter, the camera will take a picture on its own and display it, maybe enlarged around the selected focus spot and optionally with histogram. You can then fullpress ...

Re: we are almost there: A900

So concerning the focus points my first idea, though not completly right, was going into the right direction (i.e. you can't focus on the 10 extra sensors or select them as focus point):

David,

this doesn't really look like Scotland? It reminds me rather of provence or tuscany or one of these southern places 8)

Zeiss 85/135/16-80 with SSM?

Just remember I read in the current Chasseur d'Images, Sony would present some updated/renovated (don't remember the exact word) Zeiss lenses, so far this could only be the 85/135/16-80, if these are updates. They were certainly not referring to the new 16-35 et al but to the existing ones. I wonder...

Re: Workflow for the poor with ACR and Elements

One thing you didn't mention, how do you like RAW? I think from now on you'll stick to it, personally I only shoot RAW. I like my self processed Raws more than the JPGs I got (shot cRaw+JPG). Will I always shoot Raw from now on? Dunno, as long as I have enough card and disk-space it can't hurt. Tho...

Workflow for the poor with ACR and Elements

I had to process 220 pictures I shot in raw and all I have is Adobe Elements 5. Being new to raw processing, here is what I came up with after several days of experimenting: 0. Installation: If you have an older version of PSE, go to the Adobe site and download the latest ACR. It's a file Camera Raw...
