Re: Golf Anyone?

All is forgiven Doc. You will come over to our side one day. After all, who could not love a sport that is played in places like this?

Golf Anyone?

A little boredome before bedtime has me going through my gallery. Here is one that strikes me. Notice how the strip of sunlight falls on the flag.

Re: November on the Isle of Skye ... End of Chapter 1

Thanks.

A Texture Piece

Stopped by the railway station last week.

Re: My Mother... Sort of

Thanks for the coments.
Just got back from Thanksgiving dinner at her house and she did express her approval. I guess that's all the feedback I needed.

Re: Reflection à la jbtaylor

Thanks for the footnote Doc.
Interesting image. I like the way the "tail" invades the otherwise calm lower portion of the image.
Funny how you will start to see this stuff all over the place.

Re: Some Reflections

Kind words bossel. Thanks. I had hoped to do some research on the whole stock photography thing.

Re: Sigma Big Lenses

Sorry for the delay. Just getting used to this website. I owned the 50-500 at one time and liked it. However, I was just a beginner and didn't know what to compare it to and was a novice at photography (probably still challenged but at least I have a better idea of why). This is the best shot that I...

Re: Some Reflections

Thanks for the comments Kevin and bossel. Regarding the shadow, there is a dark section at the top of the rock in the upper center of the image. It is shaped like an arrowhead. I thought there was some color balance there but I can see what you mean. Regarding my family tree and Picasso, not that I ...

Re: Some Reflections

Another attempt to find shape and color in a natural setting. This is rocks and algae in a stream.

Re: Some Reflections

The last shot is an out of focus palm tree branch with Christmas lights in the background. It was taken at the shopping mall near my home. I set the camera on MF and then defocused the frame. I was just trying to get the shapes to fill certain parts of the frame in a balanced way.
