Re: SAL 500 F4 G Is here!

It's a shame, because Sony users have been waiting a long time for the official announcement, and now it's arrived, the price is even higher then the most pessimistic doomsayers foretold :-(

Re: FF Joys...

I recently sold a boxed, near mint, Sony 50mm F1.4 for £145 - so you might be fortunate and get a few pounds more, but interest wasn't that strong - shame, they're a great lens!

Good luck!

Re: A900 and other Sony gear for sale

Thanks for your concern - I'll certainly stop by now and again to see whats happening over here in alphaworld even if I can't submit any photo's! Doc, Nikon are on the record as saying they are committed to ovf's - sure, they probably will introduce evf's as well, but at least I will have a choice! ...

Re: A900 and other Sony gear for sale

Hi Bakubo, After a very difficult and agonising decision I'm moving to Nikon. Having tried an A77 (and the A55 before it) I really cannot get on with evf's, and if that’s where Sony are going they’re heading there without me! I have sourced both an 14-24 F2.8 and a 24-70 F2.8 ex-demo to put on a D70...

Re: Selling my Minolta 17-35 f3.5 G on ebay

For a very short while I owned both the f2.8-4 and the f3.5 G at the same time (I got the former when a shop was closing down for a very good price) and comparing them the 2.8-4 wasn't far behind the 3.5 in terms of optical quality, but as you'd expect, it was at the edges where the difference was m...

Great Lens, but I haven't used it for two years - Siggy 12-24 and CZ 24-70 take care of my wideangle to portrait needs!

Re: Selling my Minolta 17-35 f3.5 G on ebay

Yes it is the G - I didn't include the lenshood in the photo - please don't start the rumour that it's not a G, I've already had an ebay enquiry from someone telling me they can buy it new for under my starting price and did I mean £50?

Re: Nikon and serious advertising

I don't watch a great deal of TV but have recently seen adverts for Canon, Nikon and Sony here in the UK. They were all much of a muchness 'buy our product and you'll take the best pictures in the world' type thing - but it is good to see that Sony has realised they've got to get any potential camer...

Minolta 17-35 3.5G for sale

After much indecisiveness over the last couple of months, and given my lack of use from it, I've taken the decision to sell my Minolta 17-35 f3.5G. It is in excellent condition, has always had a filter protecting the front element and comes boxed. I thought I’d give the readers at Photoclubalpha fir...

Re: 70-400G - is it good enough?

I had one of the first 70-400’s available in the UK. When I took delivery of it I tested it thoroughly on both my A700 and A900 and at 300mm it performed as well as my 300 f4 G HS (now sold) - even open wide. At 400mm it is still exceedingly sharp. From the pictures you posted I’d swap your copy, it...
