Re: Anything that floats or it did once

Stunning images! I especially love the B&W.

An even more famous ship: His Majesty's Bark Endeavour.

Re: Anything that floats or it did once

You can indeed, and it is berthed next to the Discovery Centre, which tells the story of the expedition, and has original artifacts on display.

Re: Anything that floats or it did once

Something else that once floated (It's in a dry dock now!) RSS Discovery, the ship that took Scott to the Antarctic. Now in Dundee.

Re: Anything that floats or it did once

I like the passengers!

There is a certain irony about those wrecks. They are on the River Clyde, once the shipbuilding heart of the world, and there they are, left to die and rot. Meanwhile, their successors still come and go in the river.

Re: Anything that floats or it did once

Thanks, Sury. It's an old harbour about 5 miles from me, with half a dozen (roughly) hulks in various states of decay. More to come!

That is a bit bigger than any of my boats!

Re: New Nikon

It's an interesting upgrade, reading the Digital Camera comparison between the three 5000 series cameras, but I'd be more tempted towards the D610, personally.

Re: Anything that floats or it did once

Thanks, Sury! I like boats like that, because they've already sunk, and I'm a landlubber! The images from Mark are beautiful, especially the first one. A great landscape. Wreck #2, Bowling Harbour. http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a76/echosnare/DSC02824a-hdr01a_zpsea2bae9f.jpg a580, Tamron 18-250mm

Re: Alpha 7's & RX10

I think that todays' announcements from Sony prove two things: 1: The Alpha 7 & 7R do mean the A mount is all but finished. No matter what Sony say. I don't think so. But I don't think that even top managers at Sony can give you an straight answer of what's the future for the A-mount... 2: The ...

Alpha 7's & RX10

I think that todays' announcements from Sony prove two things:

1: The Alpha 7 & 7R do mean the A mount is all but finished. No matter what Sony say.

2: The RX10 shows that Sony have really lost the plot. £1,000 for a bridge camera?
