Re: Metz 45 CT-4 Flash

Greg, Thank you for your detailed explanation and giving me one more variable to play with (ISO dial on Metz flash). I did not think of it at all. Also, I realized that when I close in on macro, I can use both HVL 20 for the subject and Metz in wide angle mode to back light behind the subject, if I,...

Both of them are excellent and I liked the second one a tad bit more.

Re: A900 perplexing behavior

David, Thank you as always. That certainly explains the mystery. Yes, I had flash set to 1/400, 1/500 in those shots. When I came back to reshoot with A900, I am sure I changed the shutter to below 1/200 and the "problem" disappeared. Lesson learned. Thank you once again for your prompt re...

A900 perplexing behavior

Today I was taking some shots with A900, Kiron80-200, with glass less adapter and Metz flash and suddenly the camera starting showing a black band on top side of the image. With HVL20 it would not show that. After turning off the camera for a short while and using it, the problem disappeared. I don'...

Metz 45 CT-4 Flash

I mistakenly posted my question about using a Metz 45CT analog flash in DSLR systems but never the less received some suggestions including a link to manual and a gentle nudge to RTM. After going through the manual and setting the flash, I took the following picture using a Kiron MD 80-200 with MD/M...

Re: Metz 45 CT-4 Flash advice

Mea culpa. I did not go to the bottom of the list and therefore did not see the Flash section. My apologies. Can move the topic or is it something Forum Admin needs to do?

Re: Metz 45 CT-4 Flash advice

Pako,
Thank you for the reference. Mine turned out to be Analog Flash. Never the less, I am going to set the flash as suggested in the manual.

Re: Metz 45 CT-4 Flash advice

Greg,
Thank you. That is very useful. For the first time I appreciated the significance of fov numbers given for lenses. So looks like the lens is better useful when using a zoom lens than a wide angle lens. I have now some thing to go with and experiment.

Metz 45 CT-4 Flash advice

When I neighbor moved few years back he left some of his lenses and camera (Konika) and a Metz 45CT-4 flash. A $10 battery holder on eBay made the flash working. Is there any specific work flow or setting I should be using or just try test shots till I get it right? I have A900, A700 and A100 bodies...

Wide Angle MF lenses

I recently picked up a MF Gemini 28/f2.8 and found that my glass adapter does not work because of the protruding back element of the lens. Is this restriction expected with any wide angle lenses or unique to this particular lens? Any insight is much appreciated. The lens worked ok as a macro with gl...
