High ISO Question For Sonolta
Hi Sonolta I have been looking through your galleries on Sonolta.com and I wondered what your reason is for taking everything at such high ISO's? One example relates to the "Flowers & Bees" gallery - all shots appear to be taken at ISO 800 or higher. As the Alpha 700 is optimised for I...

Re: Patchwork Windows
David - the actual shot wasn't as straight as this. I had to correct the perspective to achieve the end result

Re: Patchwork Windows
This was taken with the 18-200 at 35mm and f8. Not too much processing - only cropped to get rid of some of the bits on the sides that didn't really fit the shot.

I took a wander through London one morning last year looking for inspiration - I thought that this was a bit different from the usual shots of the city

Snow / No Snow
I walked to the office this morning to take some shots of the snow that fell overnight. This is the lake outside the office:

By lunchtime it has all melted but I did get this nice shot of a frozen pond and quite dramatic sky:

Re: Flare resistance?
I think the 28 F2.8 is a great lens - so much so that I use it for about 90% of my shots at the moment. One recent night cityscape shot I took is on the following link:

Re: Sony's first DSLR made in 1998 vs. Panasonic accompishments
OK - I admit that I underestimated the number of equity entities in my earlier post but on a day to day basis I am only involved with the European operation and most of these other ones are outside of this. I still believe that you are posting information that has no real meaning within the context ...

Re: Sony's first DSLR made in 1998 vs. Panasonic accompishments
So by your own admission you have simply copied and pasted information found on the net (again) without understanding what this actually relates to. I have had a check earlier today and found the following: 12 companies are dormant or closed 8 are joint ventures (50:50 with another company) 109 are ...

Re: My Flickr Photostream
Thank you all for your messages. I am very lucky to have access to a great tutor who runs a monthly session on how to get the best from the camera.

Re: Sony's first DSLR made in 1998 vs. Panasonic accompishments
A1000 The majority are wholly owned subsidiaries. Sony Ericsson is a 50:50 joint venture. There are a number that are either dormant or have been disolved (one at least 2 years ago). The remaining appear to be production companies that make shows for Sony Pictures Television although I do not have t...

Re: Sony's first DSLR made in 1998 vs. Panasonic accompishments
A1000 Regarding the list of companies that you have supplied that Sony have an interest in, with the exception of Sony Ericsson, these are wholly owned subsidiaries of Sony Corporation - not companies that Sony simply has an interest in. Please also note that this list is very out of date (Sony Europ...
