I had some issues with own-brand CF (2Gbyte) from 'mymemory.co.uk', but no problem with a Sandisk UltraIII 2Gbyte from the same supplier so I'd agree that a different card may work OK.

Cheers,

Glad you got it sorted - better a driver upgrade than an incompatible ROM :-)

The original Scan Dual isn't necessarily XP compatible, as I found out myself :-( The earlier ROM versions are the problem. I did get a very informative reply on the subject from Paul Genge at Minolta UK back in early 2004 - the key bit for determining whether this is your problem reads: Some early ...

Ah, right - I know where you mean. The pub was nameless for a while, became known as 'The Pub With No Name' and I think ended up as the Duchess of York until it closed down. Didn't see Quo there but it was certainly one of the dwindling number of live music venues in Leeds (I remember when the Haddo...

You've got me there Denis, I can't remember a camera shop on Vicar Lane - my aging brain cells need a refresh!

I do however recognise Fairburn - it's not far from home as we're near the M1 to the east side of that well known city beginning with L :-)

Cheers,

Hey, cut down on the numbers in Leeds already! Got my missus off to Leeds in a few weeks, with a sidetrip to check out any cheap gear there! :) Don't expect any cheap gear in Leeds :-( Bligh's on North Street are what remains of the s/h outlets and a one word description would be overpriced - then ...

I'd like to stick with a zoom if at all possible, and the problem there is that my only x-200 is a Tamron 28-200XR. I'd rather not lose an extra stop unless bright sun is guaranteed :-) and I'm not sure about the quality of that combination. The hire stock 100-300 APO (first choice) is awaiting repa...

I would switch to Firefox but I want to see what many of my visitors might see as I know they use IE. I'd suggest checking any website with at least IE6, IE7, Firefox and Netscape - each has it's foibles but as a Firefox user I still see sites with wierdness that isn't there in IE. Cheers, AndyG Of...

No problem there - continuous membership since nineteen eighty-something (my Minolta club membership no. might give a clue to the exact year for someone who knows how to decode them: 8920087). Just tried to hire something 300-ish for the A100 to take to Elvington this weekend (Yorkshire Air Show) bu...

I can also recommend Mr. Friedman's excellent book. I splashed out on the colour hardcopy version, being a fan of 'real' books, but the e-book download is $19.99 from http://www.friedmanarchives.com/ebooks/index.htm

Mamiya 645J - but not as often as I used to (shouldn't have sold that 45mm!).

All-time favourite was the Vivitar Series1 28mm f/1.9 on an XD7. The Sigma 28/1.8 AF doesn't seem anything like as good and I can't afford a Minolta 28/2 (yet!).

Currently getting good results with the Tamron 11-18 on an Alpha with SSS but would be interested to see an 18/2!

Another member in Leeds

In fact born here and eventually returned via Cambridge, Edinburgh and Huddersfield! I've been using Minoltas since getting an XD7 in Feb.1979 and continued to accumulate them since. My wife tells me I have too many cameras so occasionally one ends up on eBay. Definite 'keepers' are my Maxxum7 (the ...
