Re: SAR SR5 Rumour about Sony A7s with 4K on Sunday in Las V
I am stumped http://www.sonyalpharumors.com/sr5-sony-a7s-has-12-megapixel-full-frame-sensor/ The Sony A7s keeps surprising us! It will get announced on Sunday already(!) and it will record 4K video. And now I just learned it features a new 12 megapixel Full Frame sensor! I will believe it when I see...

SAR SR5 Rumour about Sony A7s with 4K on Sunday in Las Vegas
SAR has been busy today with SR5 rumours about an A7s with 4K video and maybe faster AF. http://www.sonyalpharumors.com/sr5-sony-a7s-will-shoot-4k-video/ (SR5) Sony A7s will shoot 4k video! Live announcement at 2pm Las Vegas time on Sunday! He is also speculating that I am still not 100% sure yet if...

bfitzgerald wrote would still grab an OVF camera and I miss not having a choice on that. There are a couple of A550 cameras (body only) for sale on ebay at present including my copy. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SONY-ALPHA-A550-14-6-MP-DIGITAL-SLR-CAMERA-BLACK-BODY-ONLY-/121299328484?pt=UK_CamerasPhoto...

(SR5) first images and full specs of the Sony A3500!
SAR have just posted first images and specification for a new NEX type mount camera A3500. http://www.sonyalpharumors.com/sr5-first-images-and-full-specs-of-the-sony-a3500/ Not sure what to think. First I thought this was a new A mount camera and then it dawned upon me that this is actually an E mou...

Re: Sony marketing...DSLR GEAR NO IDEA
bfitzgerald 4 March Sony's cycles are a bit iffy to say the least, it remains to be seen what they produce for 2014 for A mount. I've read enough light leak, sensor streaking issues on the A7 to be convinced Sony view their customers as beta testers who pay for products! They'd better have more than...

Re: A58 has best image quality
Just had a chance to take out my A58 in a little bit of sunshine before the next low pressure system turned up. First of all I am surprised at the utility of the EVF, notwithstanding the bombardment of criticism levelled at it. I presume some of those have not actually used it. Initially I only used...

Re: Another boost to A7/R
This thread is supposedly about the A7/7r, but has veered off to other traumatic Sony doings or not doings. Just been out with my better half. She wanted some pictures that could only be taken by putting a camera on a pole. What could I do? I dug out a remote from an old A700 box and put my NEX-6 wi...

Re: Another boost to A7/R
There's nothing magic about FF/35mm format. Shallower DOF and more pixels. Some people like it and they can probably make do with F1.8 then instead of F1.4. If you are into real professional photography and need pixels no APS-C can compete with 36Mp FF in a small or large body, which can even give ...

Interesting comments above. My main interest is photographing for Alamy and they have now introduced a new way of submitting images Sell your iPhone photos with Stockimo, our new free app Find out more at Stockimo.com The Stockimo app allows you to upload iPhone images from your phone and get them u...

Re: What to do next?
In your situation I would be inclined to purchase an A57 slightly used for less than £295 on ebay or where ever. You are reasonably happy with your current A57 (except EVF) and should one give out, switching camera will be effortless. Would provide time to access Sony intentions. The only switch tha...

Re: Sony A6000
A6000 looks ok, but I detect that some APS-C E mount users feel they wanted a real NEX7 update. Could be right what Barry Fitzgerald stated above, but I rather was hoping for an upgrade to the NEX-6 consisting of the following major upgrade points: Improved EVF to A7 standard (eliminating NEX-6 pro...

Re: SAR: A77 update coming, no A65 update
Ran across this article this morning.. http://www.dslrbodies.com/newsviews/can ... amera.html Some valid points there. Interesting article (as usual by Thom), but my reaction (from a personal standpoint) was - so what? I have reached the stage of looking at "the riches" presented includin...

Re: Sony A6000
Also they have carried over what I have found the most frustrating design flaw of the Nex 7 - the two micro control wheels which don't even appear to overhang the rear of the camera in anyway useful. Not sure wher that came from. The SR5 image shown here indicates one control wheel on top as on the...

There is an update on SAR on the likely A6000 specification here http://www.sonyalpharumors.com/sr5-some-more-a6000-tidbits-has-bionz-x-processor-and-improved-rgb-filter/ I got some info from trusted sources about the A6000: - 24,3 Megapixel Exmor-R sensor - Improved RGB filter - Hybrid focusing, co...

Re: A58 has best image quality
At the right price even products like the A58 can be attractive. I feel though that the cost cutting is a bit much for me, however if the price went into the £250 segment it might be worth a look even for me. It's hovering around £300 which isn't a lot but it needs to get down to EOS 1100d levels t...
