Re: Recent flower photos

Very nice image. I like it. I think Rorschach or a Picasso of photography. I feel, that macro photography is a tool of abstract art.

Re: Snowy Day in Southern California

Well actually, the third photo was shot earlier. The snow covers more of the hills and the mountain. The perspective is much different, as the entire mountain is the backdrop, with less debt of field and without sky. Snow melts very quickly here even in the winter. There was also a lot of haze from ...

ValeryD: "filter out" what shouldn't be posted? Please explain. I'm against filtering out anything, political or otherwise, c*nsorsh*p - gotcha! included. Who determines what images are permissible? Who is the posting Tsar? Does Zucker or Dorsey run this site?

Snowy Day in Southern California

Snow quickly melts with the rain. I shot with a Sony 7iii and a Sony SAL 24-105 and LA-EA4 lens adapter.

Re: A300 - very good camera.

Yes, you captured very nice images. You must have so many opportunities for good shots in winter times. I like the snow, except for driving in it. I have a 14 MP, Sony A350, with a SAL 55-200 lens. I like telephoto lenses best. I keep batteries always charged on the cameras in my collection, althoug...

Re: Wow I never thought I'd see a lens..

I haven't had much concern about having so-called fast lenses. I usually do handheld shots. I don't care to carry around a heavy tripod. The few f2.8 lenses that I own are soft at full aperture. I work around with the f3.5-5.6 lenses. I just bought a Sony a7iii. I don't own any FE full frame lenses....

Re: Fast AF Telephoto lens suggestions?

I have a nice selection of A-mount cameras and lenses. I'm not like the Invicta watch collectors. I don't have any of the long tele lenses that you mention in your posts, except for the Tamron 70-300 f4-5.6, which I value, but wish it was much lighter. I use it with the a65. I also have original Min...

Re: "Apple Fire"

Yes, it is a scary situation. According to the news, law enforcement arrested 4 teens and a man with a gas can for starting the fires. Aircraft with fire retardant or water are flying over my home. It's 102 F outside, so it's not a picnic fighting the fires.

"Apple Fire"

The "Apple Fire" is currently ongoing in Cherry Valley, California. I took these shots from my home, with a Sony a 6500 and Sony 18-105 f4 lens. I processed the RAW files with DxO 3.3 and NIK HDR. Evacuations are ongoing in the affected areas.

This image was shot with a Sony a580 and Tamron 60mm Macro. I used a Metz 15-3 macro flash to compensate for the wind.

Re: Sony A99M2 + Tamron 60f2 + Zerene Stacker

Sury: I love your shots. I like the stacking feature. I also have problems with misalignment especially with handheld shot with a macro lens. When I don't use a tripod, as I don't always carry a tripod with me, I have problems. It's usually windy here in the mountains. Wind-free days are a luxury. I...

Re: A77II ramblings and thoughts

Oh yes, I have a Sony Memory Stick Pro HG Duo USB adapter for images from my Sony A-mount cameras. It's good that you can still find new Sony HG Duo memory sticks at Amazon online. I know, it's old school. ;)
