Re: 18-105G -- Good or Great?

Got the lens first sight when I saw one. Superb build quality like 10-18 but....it is too large. The zooming are maded for video shooting so it is very tricky to zoom it in a proper way. I gave it to my brother very soon. It looks the ultimate Nex camera's zoom is 16-70

Re: Scanning Torture (or Learning to Love Your Digital Camer

Thank you for starting this thread. My project did not go well. Scanning using Vuescan on my Dimage 5400 creates a file around 220Mb and the process is painfully slow.

Can't stop my GAS and bought one. Wonderful piece of small lens which does everything my Minolta beercan does without an adapter.

Re: SLT technology now

Yes, the nomenclature changes thing a bit. However, I still wish Sony to make more solid performer in each of intended user group like those from Nikon and Canon rather than producing large amount of different products into lower level.

Re: SLT technology now

Since the appearance of A900 I have invested heavily on A mount glass...and A99 did push me away to Canon and Nikon because of the seemingly less competent AF system (of A99 comparing to D800 and 5D3) and somewhat compromised image quality as comparing IQ of A99 with D600 or even A7. Sony has never ...

SLT technology now

Four years ago, when I got my first SLT camera A77, I strongly believed it will be the future. It did not take long before I started to understand the price we paid for SLT....image quality. I don't understand why Sony has to kill its conventional mirror cameras first...and I guess its sales number ...

Will you buy an A7s at 2500 UKP?

Well I start to doubt A7s's place for us still photographer. The ISO range of 100to 40K....means a lot for videoographers but not for us. I ditched a fast A7 for A7r for its higher resolution and better dynamic range, why should I buy an A7s if both DRs are the same at low ISO? For the given price, ...

Re: Carl Zeiss/Sony FE lenses

I was the one who has been complaining about the lack of the quality lenses...and here I go....I bought most of the prime/zoom on E mount available to me..last year. There is one issue..the price drops too fast. Even these two excellent FE prime lenses. I was surprised by their quality and also shoc...

Re: Tamron SP 150-600mm f/5-6.3

This is a great lens to show to us/ and the whole world that third party can also do great lenses
From what I know it is as sharp as competitors at 400 mm with usable 600mm
I feel lucky that I did not buy the 80-400 AFS VR for my Nikon cameras. This one is a must by

Carl Zeiss/Sony FE lenses

After years of complaining, Sony finally made it right by launching good quality lenses for Nex cameras. The two smallish prime lenses for A7 are just stunning. Small with non compromised image quality. Even the 24-70 f4 feels great.

Re: Sony E PZ 18-105G with a7 or a7R NON-crop mode?

I bought this lens...at a price of 400UKP. At that moment I thought the price was a steal. Well it is beautifully crafted...and looks great. Image quality does not surprise me at all. Maybe it is a good lens....on Nex cameras.. I gave it to my brother on a Nex shortly I have never tried to use it on...
