Re: on Minolta 7000

Thanks Tom, I eventually figured it out.... reading the dial was a good start :) I must say that sure is a fun camera to shoot. I have about a dozen rolls now and will take them for processing later. can't wait to see what I got. The Max 5 was fun to shoot to but control wise it doesn't hold a candl...

on Minolta 7000

Is this camera supposed to work with the 500mm Reflex lens? or does it need to be a I camera and above? Been shooting film this week and my X700 blew a shutter cap so I broke out this 7000 that came with a lens I wanted and have been shooting all week to use up the film I have. I tried to shoot a To...

Re: A850 Exposure Compensation and Ambient Light

One setting adjusts the automatic camera settings (like P,A,S modes) to allow more or less ambient light in the picture and leaves the flash output the same. so the camera will adjust whatever it can from Shutter aperture or ISO to make it happen. (thats ambient only mode) on the other setting (ambi...

Re: Samyang 85mm f1.4 on A900 after software upgrade.

Go through your menu items for camera set up. you're looking for a new setting added by the firmware called "release W/O lens". set it to yes and all should work. And also A mode will work as well

Re: David Kilpatrick in action courtesy NEX5 & 18-55 E lens

This room was probably lit with a yellow source and a white projector so anthing you do to make it look whiter is making it look un natural. The mixed lighting is going to cause you all sorts of trouble too it would have been better to flash away all the ambient but the photographer didn't have that...

Re: today's shot

This is a great illustration of when to use black and white. one of the things that draw the eye is colour. Usually colour sharp edges or contrast and leading lines run your eye around the picture and busy with colour pictures (not that this one is) the eye tends to get lost in. by choosing B&W ...

Re: Where is the Beaver?

Usually it's the soud and motion of running water than makes them want to make Dams but they use them for protection against predators. they work at night usually but you will see them early morning and at dusk. there will be a "Dam" somewhere even if it's not holding back water, it might ...

Re: "Chipped" Lenses: What features does the chip confer?

The chip will tell the camera that a lens is present, on some cameras there is no option for "release without lens" in the menu. Also the chip will convey a Lens ID to the camera so the lens shows up in the exif information and also will provide the focal lengt info to the camera so it can...
