sick 50 1.7 - help please

I know I am going to sound like a complete do-do  but I have had a Minolta 50 1.7 (serial # 1112000) which came with all sorts of odds and ends when I bought a 7D in a bag on ebay ayear or so ago. Never really got round to trying the 50 1.7 (the 7D has long since been moved on to a friend new ...

Re: How much do you use your ultra wide angle?

I will admit that it can be far too tempting just to put it at 10 for the drama, IDM Hi Ian Cracking wide shot of a refuelling spike. I recently bought the Sig 10-20 but confess to hardly ever using it yet. Now I've seen your shot I have been looking at the exhast pipes on my bonneville in a comple...

Re: Server down - lost images

Thanks for the thought David, however we already have a Tesco in the town too. And a Wilkinsons, whatever that is? But I have always been impressed with Co-op's sincerity, which is why we have given them support. I note the comment from the newsreel footage that they suspect baddies tried to torch t...

Server down - lost images

Not earth shattering but for anyone attempting to view the photographs I have posted here (including the boring ones  ), I'm enjoying a problem with my server and they are not currently accessible. But it's hardly a problem in comparison as I have just got home from work to discover no water ....

Re: A quiet afternoon in the garden?

I thought the RAF had decomissioned the Vulcan from active service, but they must have a few still flying Greg Hi Greg Actually, it is the very last remaining flying Vulcan in the world, privately owned by a consortium of enthusiasts. I understand that it cost £20,000 every time it takes to the air...

A quiet afternoon in the garden?

So there I was, last Friday, first day of decent weather for months. Pottering in the garden. Seems that the local RAF base was having a bit of an airshow..... good job I had my a700 & Minolta 300 f4 with me. Not a sight you see every day of the week :o http://www.brianyoungphotography.co.uk/web...

Re: Minolta 300m F or Sony 70-300m ssm g

My tuppenceworth: I bought my 300 f4 a few months ago and took it with me on a Baltic cruise last month for its first real workout. I can't make a comparison, only having this lens of the two, but the Minolta is - o u t s t a n d i n g . Used it with my a700 on a monopod and handheld in good light, ...

Re: Hello from Rutland

Thanks all for the welcome. One tiny point, on your website, couldn't work out how to view the Exif????? But liked the shows. Good point. I was using JAlbum initially to display my photographs and that did include exif display. But I recently "upgraded" to the bananalbum skin, which I like...

Hello from Rutland

Wonderful KM/Sony site. I have been lurking for a while  but feel compelled to register and contribute a little. Just had a wonderful photocruise around the Baltic on the P&O ship Ventura. Took 1507 shots with my beloved a700. Posted a few on my website at http://www.brianyoungphotography....
