Re: Challenge #61:"Summer Sun-I walk with Sun on my shoulders.."-ends 02.08.2016-submissions

. Hi again Peter; :) Just a few questions on the second shot: The yellow colouring on the skeletal tree where the trunk meets the roots, is it from the setting Sun or discolouring due to aging/drying/decaying of moss or similar ? Was the shot taken at sunset? The bluish tint of the ground material,...

Re: Challenge #61:"Summer Sun-I walk with Sun on my shoulders.."-ends 02.08.2016-submissions

It's winter here in the Southern Hemisphere of course, but not to worry. I have a couple of recent shots that look summery. The first is a late afternoon shot of clouds over False Bay. The second shot is of a skeletal tree in a dried up dam bed. Normally the remains of these trees are below water, b...

Re: Exhibit your B&W shots

Seems to me these last few entries should be in the "Jokes and Photo Phunnies" section of the forum. However, it does seemed to have breathed some life into a forum that looked like it was on its way out! By the way, does anyone know what happened to Dr. H who started this topic? The last ...

Re: Landscape 2015

Calling Peter Ottoway Some time ago I posted images of the same scene photographed in two different seasons (winter and spring). (http://www.photoclubalpha.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=7411&p=80481&hilit=buckland#p80481) When I took the original images we were living in Perth. The imag...

Re: Challenge #57- Evaluated & Winner Announced

Hi Folks Yildiz - may I endorse the comments from the others. Your formal analysis of the images was something new to me and quite enlightening. I appreciate the effort that you put in - it must have been quite a job and one wonders if the next challenge will not go back to the previous poll-based a...

Re: Capture One for Sony

Thanks a lot for that Tom. I used to use C1 to good effect in the old MRW days. When I upgraded to the A77 I found that I did not get enough demo time to convince myself to purchase a new version of C1, and ended up going with Lightroom. On a couple of occasions now I have used LR on one of my old M...

What I like about cats is that they make wonderful starting points for images based on the Redfield Fractalius filter.

Re: sepia!

Perhaps I should elaborate. A B&W image that has been given a sepia tone (or any other single tone) is considered to be monochrome. A colour image that is given a sepia tone is not considered to be monochrome. Most so-called B&W images have some tint, either warm or cold. The paper used for ...

We recently stayed over in a fisherman's retreat on the Breede River near Cape Infanta, South Africa. Attached is an early morning shot looking up the river.
