Re: The concept of Translucent...and resistance to it.
I got to thinking that my last (overly long) missive was perhaps posted in the wrong thread. For the record, I don’t think that pellicle mirrors will last too long – they will be replaced by no mirrors and no mechanical shutters – everything electronic. Re: The concept of Translucent...and resistance to it.
Yes - Similar to my first impressions. At long last I decided to upgrade from my old KM D7D’s. My original one is virtually dead, and the one I bought from DK is also showing signs of succumbing to the FFB disease. I went into one of the few stores that had stock to handle the A77. With the latest i...

Re: Who does their own prints?
I have been using an Epson 3880 for over a year now. Previously I was using a print shop across the road from where I was working. I decided to do my own thing so as to improve my control over the product. Doing my own printing is certainly more expensive. I found printing to be a huge learning curv...

Re: minolta 7d-purchase or avoid?
Hi Paul I still use a D7D for my photography. Every time I try handling another camera (A700, A900, etc.) I find myself disappointed and turn back to using the D7D. It seems to me that each new generation of camera feels “cheap” by comparison. But the main reason I like the D7d has much to do with t...

Pencil Sketch Look
Well, this forum has been very quiet for many months. Just to get things going again, here is one of my sketch look images.

Re: Challenge 22: "Portraiture"- (D)SLRs only
This is called "Self Portrait", although it goes against the conventional "rules" of portraiture.

Oops - Sorry Aster, only after submitting my second image (not really for consideration as a "Fall Colours" entrant) do I note your limit of one image per customer - my apologies. Delete it if you want to!

Re: Challenge 20: "Fall Colors" - Submissions
Thanks for the positive comments folks. I mentioned that it "suggests" fall colours for good reason. Although taken in autumn the original did not look like this. I attach below a copy of the original as it would "normally" come out of my raw converter (no further PP or sharpenin...
