Re: 35/1.8, the best e mount lens yet

It has certainly had excellent reviews. The new Zeiss Touit 32/1.8 is going to find the competition pretty tough I suspect. And it's good to see that these are following in the wake of the two Sigmas in being nicely small - something the original 18-55 most definitely was not. On the subject of zoom...

Cameracraft 3

Thoughtful and interesting article on camera viewpoints, David, but what a shame that wonderful overhead photograph of the violinist and his case has been ruined by the superimposition of the Mexican troupe and text.

Re: A77, Lightroom and Win XP

LR3 runs ok on xp but I don't know whether it will recognise a77 raw. The Adobe site will tell you. LR4 is miles better but you do need win7.

Re: Focus on imaging 2013 UK show - No show for Sony

That ad! Quite astonishing both in the use of a discontinued camera and the completely spurious claim about range. And what is the photographer doing - half looking at LV? But there is no LV on the 850/900. Just who do they think they are fooling?

Re: iPad viewing issue

If the poster column on your screen is on the right hand side it sounds like you have difference forum preferences set up (mine is on the left). You need to go to the "User Control Panel (UCP)". It is a large button at the top of the forum in my view. Within UCP go to "Board Preferen...

Re: iPad viewing issue

Thanks for the responses. Neither double-clicking or pinch-zooming resolves the issue - it just magnifies. The pictures are constrained at the right side (thereby reducing them to square format and losing the right hand third) by the poster column. Possibly this is a user preferences issue but if so...

Re: Is this forum dying?

Since we are now on the subject of tablets, I made the following post elsewhere (Give it your best shot) about the problems I have seeing complete images on this site using an iPad. It has yet to receive a reply, which may indicate I placed it in the wrong forum, and since I should like to receive o...

iPad viewing issue

I now browse this forum exclusively on my iPad. While this is fine for text postings it is not so for images, which usually appear in square format once locked open, with the right hand third of the image cut off. Is this a curse of the formatting which cannot be changed to accommodate tablets (I do...

Re: New Sony lenses and 70-400mm G

Must agree with this. These prices are absurd. £1,800 for a 70-400 compares with a street price of around £1,100 for the excellent Canon 100-400. As for the Sony-Zeiss 50/1.4, well it's for the birds! Another view here: Source: http://visualsciencelab.blogspot.co.uk/2013/02/in-all-excitement-about-s...

Re: My RX100 first report - review now up

While they are bigge than the RX100 and less flexible than the NEX series, the Fuji X100s looks to be a very desirable little camera as would be the various iterations of the Sigma DPM if only their raw files could be converted in Lightroom. The latter, in particular, looks to be a wonderful camera ...

Re: Is this forum dying?

I don't go on that regularly - today must be an exception - but the only failure to access was when I couldn't access other sites either. In that case the problem lay with my router - not uncommon - which required re-booting.
