Nice shots all. I understand your concern with lighting but gray sky does allow for detail. A fair trade.

Thanks jcoffin.
I agree about the last shot. I was more worried about the roses and lights in the background.

Re: Flowers 2011 (Photoclubalpha Flora)
Thanks to all for the kind comments. I was exhausted but exhilarated after 4 hours and 3 laps around the building and green houses. Took over 300 shots of which I posted 65. A few more. 135mm 1.8 http://www.pbase.com/jstaylor/image/140317576.jpg http://www.pbase.com/jstaylor/image/140318487.jpg 14mm...

Re: Flowers 2011 (Photoclubalpha Flora)
Thanks for looking and commenting. Often times I am looking for the bokeh just as much as the primary subject when using that lens. Doesn't get a lot of use but it will have to be pried from my dead hands if I give it up.[SiC] wrote:Very nice jbtaylor Love the bokeh from the 135 mm ZA.

Re: First Christmas
Not seeing any purple from my end. I did move the color temperature towards the cool side but that was to neutralize the orange that always comes from indoor light absent flash. BTW, these were iso 1699 with a little noise ninja applied. Some of the shots were exposed enough not to require any noise...

Thanks Yildiz.
He was convincing himself that he should be unhappy.
I learned quite a bit though and would do it again if offered the opportunity.

First Christmas
Not been taking pictures lately but have been stalking the forums. My Niece asked me to come take pictures of her husband and 4 month old baby. I suck at flash but love natural light shallow DOF opportunities. Here are a few taken with the 135 1.8 ZA and the a900. All shots @ f.2. Enjoy. http://www....

Re: Bull riding at the Brawley Cattle Call Rodeo
These are fine shots. I have a hard time getting that kind of sharpness with my a900 on still shots.

I can see myself taking the same picture.
For that reason, compliments from me might not mean much.
Still, I like it.

Re: Sony A77-Really a Bridge camera? Worth Getting Now or Wa
The image scale low-light quality of the SLTs goes like that - 55>33=35>77=65. The 55 is the best SLT so far in that particular regard. But the 5N shows absolutely no purple haze/noise from the sensor heat at higher ISO. The 55 surely does. Dumb question, do these cameras (a55, nex5n) share the sam...

Re: Sony A77-Really a Bridge camera? Worth Getting Now or Wa
Hello Yildiz. I used the a700 and upgraded to the a900 but kept the a700. My wife takes pictures and the need for two cameras was justified. If the last two years has taught me anything, it's that waiting for Sony to release a camera is a frustrating thing. I too have thought about upgrading the a70...
