Re: Camera sales still dropping..
Opinions seem to vary between Sony and Toshiba. Personally I have no idea but I will say that the noise performance is just a little better than the A77II. I am however struggling a little with the colours in LR. Totally different characteristics.

Re: Camera sales still dropping..
I lost it. Used my Nikon D7200 extensively at the recent airshow and I am happy with the results. Mind you my trusty old A99 is still a benchmark to beat.classiccameras wrote:I'm beginning to lose brand 'loyalty'

I won't leave this forum but my pics will likely be a mix of Sony and Nikon.

.............It's also fairly likely most Scots are sick to death of the endless debate. Be assured I am! I am not a politics person, I just want stability. Go for it Sury, you know how good it is. I was impressed from day 1 but then I got the A99 and was amazed just how well they complimented each other.sury wrote:Like the second one most, Mike. Very enjoyable set.
Inspired me to dust off my 70-400 this weekend.

The metal birds
I still think the A99 with 70-400G is one of the best telezoom/camera combinations available in terms of IQ. This pairing keeps delivering me crisp, sharp and relatively noise free images even though both are a little tired. I've had the zoom since it was launched and the zoom action is a little sti...

A bit of wildlife
I took a few shots up at the Bullers of Buchan which is on the Aberdeenshire coast just North of Aberdeen. A very noisy place at the moment but fairly decent for photography. http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b184/Mike7D/DSC_1283-2_zpsn0jpp9ip.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b184/Mike7D/DSC_13...

Cheers guys. I haven't posted images for a while so I'll have to sort some out. Problem is I rarely use my Photobucket as all my "interest" groups are now on Facebook so I can post direct.
Watch out though.....

Although I still think the A99 with G lenses is a serious force to be reckoned with in terms of IQ, I just simply can't get the kit I want in A-mount. I've expanded my interests to more wildlife as well as aviation so I'm wanting longer reach than my 70-400G. I can't get Sigma long lenses in A-mount...

Re: 24mp sensors and lens performance
I would tend to agree Barry. Perhaps then Sigma might want to make some more lenses in Sony fit. I'm enjoying my experiment with Nikon though I really miss being able to review in the EVF. I'd probably never tried Nikon if the E system was more accommodating to my lenses. But they still need to fix ...

Re: Sony A77M2 - Help/Pointers requested
Hi Sury, the easy way to vary focus point is by the Fn button and joystick. Press the Fn button then move the selected function to focus area. Press the joystick in to select. Move up down to the mode wide, zone, centre, flexible spot etc. Wide and centre are obvious but I usually use zone which giv...

Re: 24mp sensors and lens performance
Lets hope the non-OEM adaptors don't run into Sigma type incompatibility issues when Sony change some firmware.

Re: Will there really be an A99ii
Yeah I thought the Canon 7DII was expensive till th D500 arrived at £1729 for a crop sensor.
You could buy a full frame D750 for less and even a grey import D810 for less.
It must be able to take the photos by thought control.
