Printer failure or user error?

I recently purchased a Canon Pixma Pro-10 printer. The first couple of prints came out dark so I made some adjustments and printed again. At first I thought the printer choked but quickly realized the error of my ways. I had run the paper through upside down. I've never done that before. However now...

Re: POAS Volcano Natioanl Park, Costa Rica

Sury, both versions look fine to me. The only thing about the first one that seems off to me are the shadow areas in the upper half of the hill/ridge beyond the lake.

Re: Landscape 2014

Toni, thanks for the input. There's a lot going on below the horizon and in the foreground of this picture. There is a green leafy shrub right in front of me, dead branches rising up, and the canyon wall is textured yellow to gray. I darkened the lowest exposure shot and cropped it because I felt li...

Re: Few from underwater

These are great shots! I really like the way the light rays are coming through the water in the 2nd picture.

Re: Landscape 2014

I had to straddle a couple of rocks in the stream in order to get this shot. Fortunately I stayed dry.

Re: Landscape 2014

Birma, that's a very imaginative "blurry-graph" you have there. I like how the lines separate the colors, and textures into three distinct groups creating a well defined subject that appears undefined. I hope that makes sense.

Re: Landscape 2014

I find light at the top of falls like this is very tricky. I have given up fiddling with grad filters and I'd go with blending two exposures I think in this case if the DR was beyond what you could comfortably get in camera. That's another option. I've never done much blending of photos so that wil...

Re: Landscape 2014

Thanks Birma. I think I should've had more trees at the top. I wish I would've framed a little larger when I was taking the shots. I think I have an excuse though. I was preoccupied with my Mom. She came with me and was wanting to learn how to take long exposure pictures of water moving and so I spe...

Wow! That lemon shot is interesting. The fact that it took several shots while moving lemons and trying not to look like you just escaped from some institution as people continue to use the stairs to get in and out is something special. Well done!

Re: Landscape 2014

This is Five Springs Falls and it is very difficult to get a good full length view due to the trees growing in the canyon. The light was disappearing so I couldn't get any further up without endangering my health. I hope to go back soon and try to get a fuller view of the fall. The last shot was tak...
