Re: Member honoured - big entrant to PSA

Hi David,

Sandy Furniss is a member of Northallerton Camera Club, his distinction award is also mentioned on the NCPF web-site. Co-incidentally he is coming to give a talk to our camera club (Cramlington) in the new year.

Best wishes

Re: Good morning

Thanks for the comments guys, the tide does come in quite fast and cuts the island off, people do get caught out and stuck there sometimes, even though its only a short causway it does get quite deep. Here are a couple of more shots from the same shoot you may like to see http://www.pbase.com/murph4...

Good morning

I was up early this morning and down at the coast for day-break, here are a few images from St Mary's, I haven't photographed here for a while and it is a great place to visit. Even though it before 6 am there were three other photographers there. All pictures Sony A700 + Minolta 28 - 135 or KM 17 -...

Re: Who does their own prints?

I've printed a large number of my own prints up to A3+ for years (currently using HPB9180) but have recently (this week) tried an on-line printer mentioned by some very respected photography speakers I've seen at various shows, who say the quality for the price is unbelievable, and they are correct....

Re: Holiday days out - Hexham

The gothic architecture looks good on the grand scale, that must be a pretty large church Pako.

If anyone else wants to post on a similar theme please feel free.

Cheers

Re: Holiday days out - Hexham

A few more images from Hexham Abbey, differently processed for a less HDR feel 5 image pano looking into the South Transcept - the center section of the church where I was standing was very dark and lit with artifical lights, the font area I was looking into was lit by natural window light http://ww...

Re: Holiday days out - Hexham

Thanks for taking the time to comment guys, everyone is entitled to theri opinion, I still quite like them even if the processing is a bit heavy handed.

When I get some time I will process a few with a lighter touch and post as a follow up, but as I said thanks for the feedback.

Best wishes

Holiday days out - Edinburgh

We were in a rather damp Edinburgh yesterday but still managed to have a good time. We went to a fringe play that was SO awful it will be a family topic of conversation for years to come. We also went around the newly refurbishes National Museum of Scotland and saw some good street performers in bet...

Holiday days out - Hexham

We have had some poor weather over the weekend, but it brightened up this afternoon, so we went along to Hexham (about 20miles away) for an afternoon stroll and a coffee. I took some images inside the wonderful Abbey there and thought I would share a few. All Sony A700 and KM 17-35 lens. Due to the ...

The rock had two seals and a mixture of Cormorant and Shags, the sea was so flat you wouldn't think it was he North Sea. Here are a few more from the trip A gull taking a bath in the rock pools at Seahouses Harbour http://www.pbase.com/murph4306/image/137027684/original.jpg Approaching one of the sm...

Re: Holiday days out - York

Here are a few more from York, inside the Minster i was quite dark and I didn't have a tripod, so I used iso 1250 and HDR to get the shots. Looking forward to low noise high ISO in the A77 http://www.pbase.com/murph4306/image/137027811/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/murph4306/image/137027809/orig...

Holiday days out - Inner Farne

We took a boat trip from Seahouses to Inner Farne on Wednesday, unfortunatley most of the Puffins have left for the open seas, and those that were left sat in the sea offshore so I couldn't get any decent shots. But some birdlife was still around and it was a very sunny day with a calm sea so it was...

Re: Holiday days out - York

The red splosh is fake blood, there are a team of actors who take you round the Dungeon and outline the rather bloody history of the city. The purpleman has been in York for ages, the clothes are starched or have wires to make them look like they are blowing in the wind, as to what its about who kno...
