Re: Hello There!

Thankyou for the warm welcome. I don't know about 'credentials' - I'm pretty low down on the list with my C&G win ;) I think even the very big names are struggling these days in photography. There are so many people giving stuff away free ( some of it very good) and a lot of photo editors are no...

I totally agree - the lighting is not ideal on either of the other two - some blown pixels/harsh light and I would not submit either of those to stock or competition. It's nice to know you noticed :)

Re: Swing Time

It looks very sunny there in California - sometimes I suppose the light can be a little harsh? Here the light is quite gentle most of the time :roll: :wink: The light was not really harsh, but it was just before sunset, so the range between the sunlit side on the right and the shadow side on the le...

Re: Birds 2012

Some nice/great/interesting posts here! I've read some of this thread and heard complaints re difficult conditions and lenses not performing. I believe the Sony 70-400 mm is a good lens (some of my friends are very happy with it) but a lot would depend on the capabilities of the camera that's used a...

Re: Starlings.........

Thank you for the kind comments. They were too close really. It was difficult to fit them in the frame on some - hence the close portraits. We have a hide in the garden and get around 15 regular visitors plus another 10 sporadic drop ins. All in all we've seen 40 odd different species but not photog...

Re: ::..:: Everyday People ::..::

Is this an open thread for people to post their own images? IE has Digitalpimp started this as an open thread for others to post in or have people just been doing this? On other forums I've noticed that Digitalpimp tends to maintain one thread that he updates rather than start new threads when he po...

Starlings.........

.............Well - I quite like them. They're pretty hard to capture as they're very fast and change position a lot - portrait/landscape/portrait/landscape Aaarggg. But, despite being viewed as pests by some countries (especially where they shouldn't be in Australia) I think their feather patternat...

Hello There!

Hi everyone - I'm from Lancashire, England and found this forum via my husband/Ebay who noticed David had a Sony forum and passed on the info. I've had a lifelong interest in images, both artistic and photographic, but only got my first DSLR 4-5 years ago - the KM 7D. I now have the A700 but want th...
