Re: A99 11
As to GPS, that's the most desirable non-photographic thing for me. Often, I would take pictures of signs that describe wherever I am so that I can later connect the dots on trips. Photos of the sign that says museum of xyz in Cairo, Paris, Brasilia or wherever. Some time I didn't see any signs. And...

Sury,
I know you travel a bit, and if you've ever been inside a building that you wanted to photograph, or one where there is too much clutter in front to really show it when you step back far enough to get it in frame, you'll like the UWA.

Re: Camera sales still dropping..
I think that, what is holding back the whole market is not camera technology, but the output: how do you show your photographs. 4K is nice, but cameras already produce more pixels that 4K can reproduce (take apart color spaces 4K screens can reproduce) and, if you want to print, no printing system ...

Re: How wide is wide enough?
Sury, You are missing a bit. My widest ever was a 21mm on my old x700, and it really showed the difference! Now days, I sometime use the panoramic feature on my a580, but that's not quite the same as a wide angle. You'll miss the top and bottom, but then again, many times that's just sky and ground,...

Re: Camera sales still dropping..
I'm beginning to lose brand 'loyalty' I already did. My brother called me 2 days ago to ask which DSLR he should buy - tired of the phone/point & snap pics and finds it too troubling to look for film and developing these days. I told him to go with Nikon. Sony no longer has a DSLR, and I'm just...

JB,
Sorry to hear of the loss of your friend Pete. When they go without warning it's always worse.
Honor his memory and console and help his family is about the best you can do.

JB,
That nearest set of girders look distorted - did these come straight from the camera, or did you post-process?

Henry (Bakubo) uses it and has spoken well of it. I have an old reliable that I may have to use it for.
