Re: Is Retouching Acceptable?

The answer is on the output: if the photo goes to be publish as "news" or "reportage", alteration on PS is unacceptable. For illustration (like the market DK sell to through Alamy) is OK if you state the photo was digitally modified. For the rest, photographers do whatever they w...

The best 50mm for A7RII

REF: http://www.photoclubalpha.com/2016/03/28/the-best-50mm-for-a7rii/ Since the comments on the website are closed, I'm bringing the discussion to the Forum. I had the same quest for the right 50mm lens. In my case, I'm not necessarily a 50mm big user. For my taste, it is not wide enough for everyd...

Re: An Interesting Dilema For The Future

Its interesting to note the number of Sony 7R 1, 2 and 3 models on the second hand market, WEX photographic have a whole page of them. I asked WEX what was all that about and they said people had chopped them in either to another system or moved to CSC with a more extensive lens choice. If you can ...

Re: An Interesting Dilema For The Future

My chief "problem" is over the years I have accumulated a lot off glass that I have been reluctant to part with, but I know it would be sensible to reduce as some are getting little use. And others are sitting there just in case the newer ones are stolen or damaged. "Good glass"...

Re: An Interesting Dilema For The Future

Since buying the original A7r and RX10, I have become far less tolerant of all things big. bulky and heavy. The A6300 especially with a third party battery pack would be a flexible option. But given that I have the A7r and A7r II as my main cameras, then that is not really a big issue. The E mount ...

Re: LA-EA2-like adapter for Canon, Nikon, Pentax, etc. lenses?

The Sony LAEA adapters, specially the LAEA3, are quite cheap now. I suspect a new model that take advantage of a more modern AF on the A7x II and A6300 cameras will show up anytime soon.

Re: lens Choice

Mostly inside of cathedrals, I presume, unless it tends to be cloudy and darker due to winter but being sub-equatorial I am presuming it should be ok to lose 1-2 stops. Is that a reasonable inference? Peru is right in the tropic. In the tropic you don't really have 4 seasons, or even "winter&q...

Re: Arequipa at night

How is the weather at this time of the year? It should be approaching summer right? Sury Now is summer time in Peru, but that also means it is the rainy season in the sierras and the jungle (in the mountains and the jungle, you have the dry season and the rainy season, temperature doesn't really ch...
