Re: Sigma 50mm 1:2.8 DG Macro

Are you sure this lens is compatible with SLT camera's? Sigma has put out an advisory notice about this stating: After thorough investigation, we have ascertained that auto focusing does not work properly when some Sony fitting Sigma lenses are used with Sony a77 and a65 interchangeable lens digita...

Sigma 50mm 1:2.8 DG Macro

This is driving me nuts. I bought this lens months ago for my A65. I didn't try to use it til yesterday. (Though presumably I fired off a few shots when I first got it to make sure it worked.) I cannot get it to fire no matter what mode I use, and Release without Lens is enabled. Not only that, the ...

Re: A65 Time Lapse N00b Questions

I haven't had a lot of time yet to experiment with it. I will report back when I do. As for the app, I will likely go with the dedicated Aputure remote when I do get to time lapse experiments. I simply can't have my iPhone tied up for that long... This wasn't an issue for me when I bought the TT app...

Re: A65 Time Lapse N00b Questions

Many thanks, David. I snagged one (NEW!) on Amazon. They are VERY rare, indeed! I'll report back on how it performs.

A65 Time Lapse N00b Questions

I recently purchased two different tools for time lapse stills with my A65, an Aputure Remote Timer and a Trigger Trap cord with iOS app, powered by an iPhone 4. I have yet to try either. To save time I was wondering how one or both of these work, vis a vis camera battery power? I had purchased an a...

Re: Expodisc with A65

Thanks, David. I had to cross-check your advice. It turns out I have been using it wrong for years! This is apparently straight from the instructions: "When photographing subjects under ambient light, it is best to stand in similar light as your subject and point the camera towards the main lig...

Expodisc with A65

I have a virtually unused Expodisc White Balance filter left over from my (now sold) Canon (T2i) kit. I am still learning my way around the A65 which I love so far. In lieu of the built-in custom spot white balance function, do I even need the Expodisc? If it is still useful, how do I use it with th...
