Wide angle macros with SEL30M35 + fisheye adapter
I've recently started to use this lens combination on my nex-5 (sel30m35 + VCL-ECF1). I'm quite happy with the results, however I haven yet used the full potential of this approach, since I had only short time (few hours) to test it. Re: Flowers 2014
Thanks for the nice words! I'm experimenting with different lighting ways but mainly coming back for this rim-light effect as my favorite.
I read somewhere that an own style is important for a photographer. Maybe I will deepen it further.

Re: Flowers 2014
Nice photos from the last few day but Mark's pictures are outstanding. I wanted to take some macro photos in the nature but it was raining this afternoon, so I had to find some photo subject inside. My wife got a bunch of garden flowers, so I set up the macro studio (nex-5, sel30f35, wansen radio tr...

Re: Flowers 2014
Sury, I like your second photo a lot, but I would further improve the concept. I think you can turn somehow this plant to have a better background.

Oh, I understand. Actually it was kind of floating in the air but you can see a bit in the right top corner the stem. I added a bit of back light.sury wrote:Marcell,
that orchid looks like as if it is floating in the air. That is what I meant.

A recent orchid photo with my new DIY twin flash adapter. A back light was added to the diffuse front light to enhance the picture:

Thanks Sury, sury wrote:Who would have thought something so beautiful(ly captured) causes so much hassle.
One of these days, I shall get half as good macros.

Actually I've never given a closer look of the grass, but now I started to appreciate their beauty.

Sorry to hear your struggle with the files. Luckily the originals were back-upped on a separate drive. It just reminds me to do some back up in the weekend.
I still write my files on DVDs in addition to copy them to two separate HDDs.

Grass project
I've started yesterday a new photo project. To treat my pollen allergy I started to take photos of my "enemy", blooming grasses. Maybe it helps. First I wanted to use my dslr, but finally decided to use my nex-5 camera with the sel30f35 lens. Few selected photo: https://farm3.staticflickr....
